I don't know whether there's a God or not. Nobody does, no matter what they say. I think it's perfectly possible to explain how the universe came about without bringing God into it, but I don't know everything, and there may well be a God somewhere, hiding away.

Actually, if he is keeping out of sight, it's because he's ashamed of his followers and all the cruelty and ignorance they're responsible for promoting in his name. If I were him, I'd want nothing to do with them.

I was just wondering if Buddhist monasteries in far eastern countries (either in an urban or far-removed context) allow white western europeans to become monks with them as you see in Hollywood sometimes, or whether they look upon you as odd unless you hail from the same country?

This is of course providing the visitor was fully willing to learn, believe and become a monk in the fullest sense- and if they are accepted, are you a monk for life or can you leave if and when you please?

Thank you for serious answers- any advice most welcome

All I want to know is: What is the logical reason JW's refuse blood in today's modern medical age?

Many things from the Christian bible are no longer followed as they are no longer applicable. Some rules put in place to simply keep us safe are no longer needed. Why do JW's follow this law?

Do they oppose organ transplants as well?

Are they against donating their own blood to save the life of someone else?

Would they accept blood from a parent?

Mormons to not know how to laugh. They do not know how to laugh at themselfs, And they do not know how to enjoy humor.
Jesus is know to be a savior who laughted and laughted alo.
Mormons seek to enjoy attacking people when the get hurt.
Jesus never attacked a single person and people did speak eveil of him all the time and even opposed him openly. Mormons do not defend there faith they attack the people that are telling them they are nuts. Mormons as just another group of people claiming we have the truth but you don't, Were the only ones going to heaven. We know God word and you don't.

For all mormons to really understand your faith. When your faith is in accordent with all of Daniel 7 then you can be assured of it being Gods faith. But as daniel 7 declares that the saints of the most high all shall be working in the kingdom of Christ which is on the earth. This one group of scriptures destroyes every bit of your faiths teaching. As God can't lie and he gave this informaiton?

Today some guy from Yahoo answers pm'd me, going on about how they can disprove God by disproving the stories in the bible. He goes on to say, hey we can disprove your biblical God. Which is an generalization to even think that I believe this bible god is real. Then he went on about if you try to rationalize and say it is all metaphors then he can say the flying spaghetti monster is real. I replied by saying, atheist words are always reactionary to fundamentalism and fundamentalism is not relative to what was generally respected as fact in the approach to scriptures.

Why do some Atheist negate reason and not get understanding on certain movements, not all perceived the scriptures literally, many of which have said that they were allegoric for esoteric truths, the applying of the physical sense to perceive the nature which constitutes mind. For those that dont know thy perceived the world as an illusion that was an allusion, and everything was an aspect of mind, vibration of thought?

Okay. When you are writing about "God" you are supposed to use a capital letter. Same when you write "Him" referring to "God". I'm wondering; do atheists capitalize the words god and him when having to write something about god? Personally I don't. My English instructor once told me that I had to so it would be correct, but I told him that since I don't believe in god, then I shouldn't have to capitalize something that I don't perceive as real or important.

what I have always been genuinly curious about is why christians say they believe in the soul but seem to base their morality as if they didn't believe in one. For instance, if a person has an abortion, its not as if his soul was being killed..... or is it? I really don't know your views and am curious.

Thinking each of their religion is right disregarding and disrespecting the religion and personal beliefs of others and without consideration mocking them, ridicule and insult though it isn't actually rewarding to them, only hurtful to those insulted. Even as a Muslim, I don't go around saying "My religion is the one, true religion in this world, you all will go to Hell." While the rest of the muslims I see are doing this and only spreading hatred, ignorance and prejudice instead of setting examples. This behaviour is comparible with many others in this world, not just Islam. Why can't we all just get along?

A verse from the Quran:

"My religion is my religion, your religion is your religion."
