As far as we know, Buddha was a real being whereas Jesus is believed to be real in Bible, which was written more than 2000 years ago.
I think that's pretty straight-forward.

You mean to say that Buddha's life was recorded but not that of Jesus?

Buddha was a prince, Jesus was....Jesus.
So, Buddha got a lineage and a recorded history.

You are the one who has not studied this well. They is ample written secular documentation of the life of Jesus by Roman, Greek , and Syrian historians. No serious scholar or historian disputes his existence, just what he was.

I'm going to need to see some proof for that. When I studied Buddhism, even his followers admitted that they didn't have proof that Buddha existed.
EDIT: Okay you mean that Buddha, there are more than one. And since the time of his birth and death are uncertain according to Wikipedia, I guess you have to have faith, huh? My stepfather is a Buddhist, I hear about it all the time.
We have non-Christian records dating back to 49AD that state Jesus Christ was a real person who was executed by the Romans.
