Romans 8:9 -- "But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his."

1John 3:24 -- "Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us."

We become Christians when the spirit of God enters into us. It is by our keeping of the commandments of God that we know if we are in the spirit of God or not. Because, as Jesus said, keeping them by human power alone is impossible.

Matthew 19:26 -- "But Jesus looked at them and said to them, 'With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'"

God offers the Holy Spirit to all His children and if they accept it, they are filled. If you doubt this, then ask yourself what you feel. I know the Holy Spirit is, always has been, and always will be with me because He (although he has no actual gender, for purposes of language) always gives me the sense that I am not alone, I am comforted. When I think of him, which is more than once a day, I see us walking side by side toward Heaven. He guides me with his actions, with his advice, his presence and his patience. Listen for "the still, small voice" of encouragement and peace, that is him ;)

Do you understand stuff that non believers don't? Such as the Bible? Do you understand the concept of your eyes being opened to the truth?

If so, you have been filled with the Holy Spirit.

There is only one way to know and that is by faith. Faith is believeing God. When He says in His Word in 1 Cor 12:13 "For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body -- whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free -- and have all been made to drink into one Spirit." you need to believe what God says by faith. When Christians say, "I won't believe it unless I have "some experience" they are just like Thomas who said, that unless I SEE the wounds, and FEEL with my hands, I won't believe. He has been called "doubting Thomas" ever since. The Bible clearly teaches that all Christians have been baptized byt he Spirit of God in Romans 6. Believe it!
