christianity is a religion that has many subgroups within them. the biggest being catholics. although many people mistake it as a seperate religion. which is not true, but they do have the most political and whealth of every christian subgroup. it is said to be the dogma of all.

but i dont' know what subgroup i fall into. i don't think i'm aiming for catholic beliefs. i'm not feeling worshiping or hailing mary, and i don't need to confess to a church guy, but just only to jesus.

what do you think about that? what do you feel about non-catholic christians. are they safe?

also please tell me more of what you know about blasphemy. is it truly unforgivable? is there situations where it may be temporary blasphemy?

You might be right, we might just have one life, but im going to have my kicks before i die...

I am wondering: why it is that Christians, on this site and elsewhere, when defending their belief, will quote from the letters of Paul extensively, and hardly ever, if at all, from the reported words of himself?

I am genuinely confused by this, and would appreciate sensible answers.

The Jews have Zionism, a movement to create a Jewish homeland. Because, you know, the *had* to have their own homeland. . .And a big reason for it was growing anti-semitism in Europe in the early 20th century and late 19th century.

What about Atheists? It seems that Atheists are catching up to Jews when it comes to numbers. Are the Atheists going to do the same? How would this work?

Because it seems that there's alot of anti-atheism in the world nowdays. And it's the same as the anti-semitism described in Europe at the time that Zionism was established (that's prior to the Holocaust). I mean, you'll NEVER see an atheist politician who holds the same views as a Christian politician get past the primaries. Or, how about the word "God" being stamped on just about every gov't document here in the US (ie: money)? Yep, alot of discrimination.

Comments?

since this is breaking a commandment, and taking his name in vain literally means calling upon him for something which he will not do, shouldn't we quit praying to him altogether? Even if you believe that some prayers are answered, you never know if one will be or not, so why take chances? Isn't this a commandment only God himself can make you violate? If you say "God damn it," and God does indeed damn what you referred to, then you're not taking his name in vain, right?

Many christians tell me that the New Testament replaces the old testament and that the old blood sacrifices are no longer applicable. That I should "get out of the OT." If this is the case why not remove it from the bible or mark those passages which are no longer applicable, perhaps using green text.

I'm refering here to passages like Leviticus 1:15 where the steps required to kill a bird by wringing its head off are clearly defined.

If Jehovah's Witnesses are the only "true Christians" on Earth, then why do they shun their own members if they have been disfellowshipped? If Christ taught "to love thy neighbor," then He surely meant it in good times and bad. If fellow members made a mistake (because lets face it, NOBODY in this world is perfect...the only perfect human being to ever step foot on the ground we walk on is Jesus Christ) then we are to FORGIVE them of their faults and to never abandon them but rather to embrace them with support, counsel, and love during their transgressions. The Lord would NEVER teach to abandon your own family because family is the central principle behind the purpose of the Gospel. Since we are ALL children of God (by the way, God's real name is NOT Jehovah - Jehovah is Jesus' name in the spirit world - Heavenly Father's real name is Elohim), we are to provide service, charity, love, and kindess to our own brothers and sisters and teach our families these principles as well.
