Where's the logic in that? If you can believe you have one life and one life only, why do you spend all you life wondering if 'it is logical' and try stop me from having fun and empower myself with irrational beliefs?

You might be right, we might just have one life, but im going to have my kicks before i die...

deazone: maybe, but i would rather see the progress going in the direction of paradise right here on earth than pollution, greed and buildings that cover everybit of the planet.

Becuase said irrational beleifs lead to secatarian wars, and abuse against girls, gays, single sexaully active people, animals and often children. Justified by the notion that it is a gods will.


And even things like human sacrifice.


Mostly all tied up in a notion of morality

Because how the universe works is way more interesting than any fiction I've seen. And that knowledge leads to things that actually improve our lives. Do you think you'd be using an internet connection to ask these questions right now if we had regarded science and religion equally?

There's a reason why we call a period when religion and superstition held more influence than science "The Dark Ages."

I dont. I get on with my life and try to make it as comfortable as I can. The only time I reason about there being no god or need for religion is when I come acoss religious nutters who are insistant that there is.
Frankly I find their dellusion quite scary, they all come across like they are part of some wierd cult. Especially that chick on here that signs off with 'Blessed be' all the time

My experiences (personal and observations) have shown me that most "atheists" aren't atheists at all. They are simply pouting on the fence because their fairy godmother didn't grant their self-centered wish in the way they wanted.

Being too human and world-bounded. To them it's better having more freedom without worrying about God and Hell. Also to them religion can be bad, people died and fought wars for religion, to them it's better living in a world with no God.
