What if I do all of the prayer, the asking, the bible reading, whatever you want, but still cannot make myself believe. Do I get into Heaven when I die? Why not?

does god punish animals like he does man? make our punishment passed down through generations?

14 So the LORD God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this,
"Cursed are you above all the livestock
and all the wild animals!
You will crawl on your belly
and you will eat dust
all the days of your life.

obviously the snake had legs before it tempted eve to eat the apple. how come from then on, all snakes crawl on their belly? how come god made this punishment pass down through generations? is that fair to the snake?

and does that mean having a pet snake is like having a pet satan?

if i quote a verse i get thumbs downed. however, someone referenced a verse in my last question, and the verse doesnt even exist.
" 2 Peter 2:24 " and people gave him thumbs up.

am i missing something? does anyone look up verses or do they all just take whats being said for the truth? im starting to wonder about the christians on this site. i keep finding false verses here that christians seem to agree with. amazing how no one catches these.

They don't preach the cross of Christ. They teach "Give your money to us and God will give you tons of money back!" It's called the selfish gospel. What does anyone think? You can bash me, go ahead. But that's what I see.

Oh, and I won't even mention the guy that sells "Miracle Water".

I meditate. I have friends who pray. They talk about being quiet and open and attuned to whatever happens. They say they don't so much as pray TO to God as listen.
Seems we're into the same thing, perhaps with more expectation from prayer.

And why? Also, if you raised your child in a certain religion and they decided to "convert" would you be accepting of their new beliefs regardless of what it was. Would you educate yourself to learn more about the new religion?

There were times you looked at me
When you were all I could see.
What happened to the times when nothing else mattered?
Now I am in a thousand pieces with my heart shattered.

The friends I thought I had are gone.
I sit in my room, away from everyone, withdrawn.
Gone from the world, departed from my soul, shun from everyone I know.
Now that it is all over, you no longer have to put on a show.

Family, the ones you think you know the best.
Each night, you lay your head thinking you are blessed.
Even they can slip right through your hands, gone forever, never to be seen again.
Just thinking what you would do to see them again is such an emotional strain.

As I sit by the window seal, watching the rain fall.
In this huge world, I feel incredibly small.
Knowing that you’re gone, it kills me inside.
In all actuality I am alive, but really, my soul has died.

There only a few people in this world you can trust.
Just a second is all it takes for them to diminish like dust.
When that bond breaks and your soul has been deprived
Sometimes, it is a wonder that I have survived

Although there are times when you don’t get along,
No matter what happens, families always shall stay strong.
When you think of home, a sense of warmth should come to mind.
A place where you can sit by your window, watching the rain fall and unwind.

One of the clearest verses in bible:

Luk 18:18 ¶ And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

Luk 18:19 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none [is] good, save one, [that is], God.

Yet Christians claim that Jesus was referring to his divinity !!!!!!!!

Do you not believe the concept of good and evil varies among individuals as well as societies? Usually, good is something that you are attracted to and evil isthe opposite in that nature. Imperialism is a great example. Imperialism was obviously good for imperialists because it encouraged economic development, increased nationalism, and enabled them in acquiring new territories. It was obiously bad for the conquered because of the genocide and parasitic effect it had on their societies. Humans have the fundamental ideas of what good or evil is but there is nothing good or evil common to all. In that sense, what is good should be good to everyone as a whole(humankind) yet, the same thing one suposes is evil, is good to another. This indifference grants the same thing as both good and evil. In my opinion, religions are not exempt. Why do you believe your version or opinion of good and evil is correct?

Just in a blink of an eye it is gone, never to arise again.
Thinking to myself, “Am I slowly going insane…?”
It happens to everyone I know, but why?
I don’t want to say goodbye.

Day after day, night after night, life is diminished.
So I just lay and wonder, when will mine be finished?
What if this is all a bad dream?
No one really knows if it is just one big scheme.

Only time will tell what is really on the other side.
What will really happen after everyone has died?
God has always been with me, each night.
The question is, am I good enough to go to his height?

From all the mistakes I have made, it is hard to tell where I will go from here.
So I have to wonder, think about what will happen in fear.
May God forgive me and hopefully one day he will see
I have tried as hard as life would let me.

Lies, deception, and cruelty are all part of life
When you are hit with one of these it is like getting stabbed with a knife.
No one knows what will go on beyond this time that God gives you
So I will try my hardest to make it through.

The past is the past and it is something I can never replace
In the future, I will take the tasks that God gives me in one big embrace.
Is this normal? Will I ever be the same as I used to be?
No one else but God holds the key.

has anyone got any advice on how to meditate properly and what experience you have of the process....I have tried unsuccesfully to get into a deep medaative state but alas I have failed.
