Are you kidding? There are religious people who think that? I think it's probably just a misconception, because most religious people think it is one of the most spiritual and amazing things you can do...at least that's what I think. I believe the misconception comes from the fact that many religions and religious people believe sex should be done within certain boundaries. Because sex, and the emotions that go along with it, is so powerful and amazing, it is something that can be taken for granted and abused (and Christians think that Satan often takes that which is good and encourages people to use it inappropriately). Christians believe God intended that people procreate/have sex, and as encouragement/an added bonus He made it down right amazing and fun. But, the main reason for this was to procreate. It is the closest thing to godliness people can partake of in this life (taking part in our own creation), and therefore disrespects God if we treat it casually or outside of His bounds. This does not mean couples must only have sex to procreate, because as I stated that was only the main purpose. But, sex also is a powerful bonding experience. A couple grows closer together and can understand the other by engaging in sex. So, no sex isn't evil...at all! Just sacred...and amazing.

Sex isn't evil unless we make it to be.God told Adam and Eve to be fruitful and multiply the earth. This was after He had joined them together as man and wife.Sex is perfectly honorable and holy between and Husband and his Wife. "Marriage is honorable in all,and the bed undefiled:but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge" Heb.13:4.

the act of sexual intercourse is not evil when done in accordance withthe manner in which is was given to us - that of a loving man and woman bound together in holy matrimony. when sex or any gifts of God are taken, twisted and perverted they become revulsions.
