The Bible is English. In other languages it has different names, such as Die Heilige Schrift.

1. The "unexplained" is not evidence. (Ex. How did everything
come about, ect.)

2. So called "miracles" is not evidence. (They're never investigated)

3. "Delusions" is not evedence. Mentally ill people see things that aren't there all the time

4. The "bible" is not evidence. It's all hear say. So many contradictions. http://www.evilbible.com

5. A "feeling" is not evidence. "Feelings" have mislead people to death

6. "Faith" is not evidence. "Faith" is a mental block that prevents people from checking to see if the belief is actually true

I was told in this question http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AixyVXEaI_nd5Kcbpuny0ADd7BR.?qid=20070120091408AA7HUPh that God can't do miracles because that would mess with our "free will."

1. If that's true, why did Christ perform miracles, raise people from the dead. Didn't THAT mess with their free will.

2. How exactly does "doing something supernatural" impact someones free will? They're still quite free to reject it as a "trick" or to attribute it to the wrong god. Can you explain please?

Is Jesus God or not?!

2007-01-20 04:20:05 · 28 answers · asked by Whatever 5

In order for one to take the bible seriously they must first be succeptable to believing there is a god. Not only that but they must be succeptable to believing that this god has all of the traits of the god depicted in the bible (who is actually many gods, but that's a different question all together).

So, when one uses the bible as evidence for gods existence they are merely saying i believe in god because i believe in god.

Why is such flawed resoning so easily overlooked?

Can you please pray for the guys over there in Iraq, whether they are fighting or not?
I understand that you may not agree with what they are doing, but they are suffering a lot right now.
My father is over there, and I saw(I wasn't really supposed to) one of the most gut wrenching letters I think I have ever seen that he had written to my Mother. He isn't fighting, and neither are many of the other people over there that came from the U.S.,but they are still hurting. They still want to come home. They still miss their families.
Even though you may not agree with the fighting over there,I beg of you to please pray for the mental and physical state of those who are over there.
They are in a lot of pain right now,and they need as much support as they can get.

I think there are sets of prayers to say just like when you are concencrating yourself to the Immaculate Heart or to the Sacred Heart. Do you know any websites or book?
Thanks

P.S - Have you ever done this? Or have you ever thought about it?

Do those of you who belong to faiths that meet in congregations find that having a religious figure preach from the texts gives you greater understanding of the message behind the text? Do you feel that it stifles your own ability to interpret the text?

In fact, do you think that these texts were meant to be interpreted by us or by imams/rabbis/pastors?

Also, I included imams, but I wasn't sure if services had any sort of dissection of the Qu'ran, or if they were more geared towards prayer. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Many, but definitely not all, theists respond angrily when people question their beliefs. Sometimes the person isn't asking a real question, rather they're trying to ridicule someone's belief. (On the other hand, many times theists attack the person even if the question just seeks understanding.) People respond with, "You should respect others' views."

However, why should we respect views that aren't based on anything but blind "faith?"
I have no reason or desire to respect--whether this relates to religion, politics, etc --a view based on blind faith. Why should I respect the view that it's possible for virgins to give birth to supernatural beings? I can't even respect a person agreeing w/ me if they do so based on blind faith. Do we have to respect every view, no matter how incredible, just because someone chose to believe it?

And if so, I choose to believe everyone who disagrees are evil sinners, please respect that.

What is the biggest problem for Islam today? Please explain.

I ask because its hard to read anything relating to the middleeast, polotics etc. without seeing some nasty remarks towards Islam. Ironically these remarks, which refer to terrorism, reflect an understanding of Islam that is probably not far off from those who carry out acts of terror. My question isn't in regards to terrorism but what do you beleive is the biggest problem facing Muslims today.
