They don't have a lot of choice-the existence of the God of Christianity can only be "proven" if scripture is a divine revelation. There is no other means they can use.

I agree with carter boy. think on this if you will. the bible is not a single book, written in a short decade. no, it is a whole library of books. it was written over hundreds upon hundreds of years, slowly piecing itself together. how, i ask you, if it is not historical, does the story of david, solomon or even someone like job, connect so hugely with the new testament, which was written about a thousand years later? and the prophets of the old testament. they all predicted the coming of john and jesus, ad they were all right. this is not just any old text, and never make the mistake of thinking so. this is a record of nations. the israelites, the gentiles, the jews, the romans. all israelite teachings are in the bible, as well as ALL there teachings on law and morality. the bible is a record of the history of god's people, down through the millenia. how could anyone believe this is all just a story? if you are not convinced or not sure then I encourage you to try and read the bible. think on this in the meantime. the bible provides answers. the greatest minds of today are stumped on seemingly impossible questions. but there is an answer. in the bible. the origins of the universe are contained within the book of genesis. people make it out to be so complecated, when really it is quite simple. we have a maker. we have a creator. we have a god. and the bible is his word.

Because...you either believe or you do not believe...this is FAITH.
I think much of the Bible is flawed...it is a man-made book and parts of it never made it to print because there it didn't make the vote...I really couldn't care less or more...I have my faith....it is based some in the Bible, some on my own interpretation and some on others, My faith is also based on my study of other cultures and religions, my own life experience and my feeling that I, being a man and being flawed, do not have the right to fuque around with people if their own faith varies from mine....so...
There is a misconception of many because they ONLY look at the bible and this would be like learning how to fly like only looking at the user manual of the 747 you are strapped into... Faith is about honesty, wisdom and knowledge....
Pedants need not apply...nor, while basking in their own ignorance like pigs-in-****, should they judge others.

I try not to. I can only tell you my story. I was an unbeliever and Christians ticked me off to no end. I couldn't stand them - but one thing that made me jealous about them was that they loved each other so much. I would see them come into the place where I worked and greet their friends with hugs and they always had a smile for me. I thought they were nice but this sin thing they talked about drove me nuts. I thought "who are they to tell me I've sinned". Anyway, one night I was in my apartment after work and I sat down on a chair (I remember the chair - it was 29 years ago). I said (to the air? God? Whatever/ whoever?) "OK, I have a good life. I have nice things, a good job, and great mom and dad and a hubby who loves me - but why don't you just take over the direction I'm going". That was that.
I went to bed and slept and when I woke up in the morning it seemed like Christmas Day when I was a kid (or if you don't know what that feels like, it felt like my birthday, or a special day when I knew a beloved relative was going to come to visit. )Anyway, the sky was somehow bluer, the trees more beautiful and I went to work sort of all giddy.
I told some of my co workers that Jesus loved them. Some of them laughed at me and some just shook their heads. I wanted to shout from the roof tops that Jesus is Lord.
I still didn't know anything about the Bible. I thought it was a load of trash. I started reading it just to see what was in it. I'll stop there.
I can only say that this is what happened to me. That, no one can take from me.

Read Evidence Demands a Verdict by Josh McDowell. He set out to disprove the Bible and ended up believing it for himself.
I believe the Bible to be true but I do not believe myself to understand all that is written in the Bible.
My relationship does not believe in religion. Relationship with Jesus.

Actually you don't have to believe in God to accept the Bible for a true and historical document. Which has been proved over and over. It is by far the most authenticated and accurate book on earth.
Many by trying to prove the Bible false or just fiction have come to a Strong belief in God.
So giddy up horse this cart is headed to town.

By George I think you got it!
It is all about a relationship with GOD.
In fact it is the owners manual for that relationship.
My brothers and sisters will show you things in the Bible because it makes clear perfect sense to them. They are not aware that people who are not right with GOD can't see it.

It's hard for me to understand how anyone could possibly not believe in God.
The Bible is not "evidence" of God...
It is His message to His Creation. If you love Him, you will hear Him.
If you don't, you probably won't.
I can't put it more simply than that.....

In order for us to believe in God we must first be prompted by the Holy Spirit. That is why you cannot understand.

It's called the law of identity. God is God, it doesn't need to be stated.
