What is the biggest problem for Islam today? Please explain.

I ask because its hard to read anything relating to the middleeast, polotics etc. without seeing some nasty remarks towards Islam. Ironically these remarks, which refer to terrorism, reflect an understanding of Islam that is probably not far off from those who carry out acts of terror. My question isn't in regards to terrorism but what do you beleive is the biggest problem facing Muslims today.

internally,between muslims countries, i think its a decline in the sense of muslim brotherhood which is an essential part of islam...we even call ourselves the "muslim ummah" which means the "muslim family"
externally i think its a lack of understanding and the lack of expose non-muslims hav had to muslim ideas

Salam :) I'm a Muslim youngster residing in Canada. I put on hijab alhamdullilah and it is for essentially the most aspect accredited right here on the grounds that i are living in a huge town with a tremendous Muslim populace. I do get the few ignorant feedback and idiots at college even though who ask stuff like "yo obtained a bomb beneath there hahaha". But the toughest aspect is being specific out of your peers. Being a Muslim, events, alcohol relationship boys dressed in revealing apparel and many others is haram, and at the same time I do not desire to do this besides, it may be a bit awkward to ought to provide an explanation for why I do not do it to individuals who recollect it only a aspect of being a youngster and its normal to them. i think that the biggest problem really [like any other religion] is to prevent people from fearing it and thinking that anything associated with it is also associated with brainwashing etc. it is so hard to stop the stereotypes from people who really have no idea about what theyr talking about. islam does not at all encourage terrorism. but for this fact to sink in.. it takes a lot. it doesnt help at all with all the fanatics either who are simply blind... how do you go about trying to make people understand when they are scared of you and theyr so full of hatred. you cant and iv noticed it a lot on this site. many just dont want to here. they dont want to know. islam is bad. end of. whether or not i know im not going to listen. im perfectly happy with someone elses biased end of the stick. and its this attitude which is just so difficult.. there are many out there who are not like this but what about the many who are? at first.. i used to get so caught up and so upset.. like why cant they see... but some people's eyes are veiled. they will not see the truth because they do not wish to. but making ourselves heard is so hard. there are so many that say we [moderates] dont speak out. we do!... the news doesnt film it.. but that cant be hardly surprising.

i think that you're right. a lot of people with this instilled hatred... are very much in a similar mind set as the terrorists. the terrorists didnt bother to educate their opinion or perhaps think there was something they were missing. they let their hatred take over their decision making.

i think that the fact that most of these terrorists proclaiming Islam as their excuse to massacre is not based on Islam itself. rather the fact that countries have been oppressed [muslim] by the west and they use Islam as an excuse for cold blooded revenge. its pathetic yes. but so are those who assume and judge without knowledge. i really hope that maybe people can see but then i know how hard it is for people's opinions to change. they are.. you can say.. as brainwashed as some terrorists. thanx for your question. peace.

did u try to know more muslim people and talk to them ? to know them better !!

This is not about you, but I think one problem is that people believe everything they see on TV and don't think for themselves anymore. They are not sincere in questioning, they don't even follow their own faith. Some claim to be christian but ruthlessly attack and judge others. They should follow the commandment in their own bible that says "judge not lest ye be judged". They pick apart the most ridiculous things forgetting that their own religion can be picked apart in to just as many if not more despicable pieces. Getting truth out is very difficult especially when you have people who just hate entire groups based on ignorance for nothing making up false things about each other. They need to just STFU.

but its only really islamic people who are trying to kill westerners. how can the news get that wrong? most terrorists are islamic that is fact so as muslims do u think theyre doing the right thing? do u think martyrdom is the way to go? or am i just being racist too because i said most terrorists are islamic
