You know what I find so troubling about the Bible, especially the New Testament? It's the disciples' poor reporting of events. Of course I say this from reporter's point of view. Luke wrote the pharisees were taking the best seat among the synagogue. Where is the best seat? Front row or at a convenient corner? Why can't he describe it? Luke wrote a large crowd followed Christ to a house. How large was the crowd? How many people? 100 or 1000? Can't he give a figure? Luke wrote the Holy Spirit came upon the people. What's that? A beam shining down from heaven? A white dove flying by? **** it Luke! Tell us what that Holy Spirit is and I'll give you a Pullitzer Prize.

You see, Christians, I would forgive the disciples if they were inadequate in their writing, for they were no trained writers in the first place. But their inconsistence in their reporting that really get to my nerves. When they record what was said by Christ or the others, they can write down in full detail, word for word. But when it comes to events or places, they leave the picture blank in most cases. As if they were assuming that their readers would know it like a general knowledge, like how we need not explaining what is electric switch to classmates. As if the disciples were assuming that their writing was only meant for their generation. Did they even know that Christianity is going to be a great religion 20 centuries later?

I say John, the last living disciple of Christ who wrote the book of Revelation, was nearly a good reporter. But he should ask the leading angel if the beast rising from the sea was made of metal or living flesh. Answer from such question could mean a great deal to 21st century people.

Christians, your faith is based on what happened sometime in the past. It is therefore relavant if while trying to understand your religion you should also understand history. While trying to grasp the good teaching please do yourself a big favour -- understand the logics behind it, if there's any.

I don't remember the exact religion he was, but I think it was one of the two.

Someone I used to work with carried a note in their wallet about their wishes on blood transfusion; That they wish not to have one when and if needed. So, say they don't have their wallet on them or the doctors/paramedics fail to see the note, and he gets a blood transfusion or blood donated to him to save his life. What happens when he comes to and realizes what has happened? I'm sure there will be a lot of grief, but are they disowned or severly looked down upon by their church/family/friends?

Thanks!

Qur'an:9:5 "Fight and kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, take them captive, harass them, lie in wait and ambush them using every stratagem of war."

Ishaq:324 "He said, ‘Fight them so that there is no more rebellion, and religion, all of it, is for Allah only. Allah must have no rivals.'"

Qur'an:9:29 "Fight those who do not believe until they all surrender, paying the protective tax in submission."

Qur'an:8:65 "O Prophet, urge the faithful to fight. If there are twenty among you with determination they will vanquish two hundred; if there are a hundred then they will slaughter a thousand unbelievers, for the infidels are a people devoid of understanding."

And never did We destroy a town but it had a term made known.
(Surah Ibrahim 15:4)

There was no Prophet from any community who did not stand up and did not talk in their own language. And the heavenly book also used to be in the language of those people. Therefore if the apostleship of a Prophet is specially for that community, then that system would have been very much likeable, but if his apostleship is universal and for the people of the whole world, then why it is necessary that his book should be in the language of those people say for example, the book brought by the Prophet of Islam (‘s) is in the Arabic language?

Christians, why are you against Euthanasia like hell while the bible itself encourages it ? of course it is not found in the bible verses, but it is found in the proccess of how the "lamb of god" die for the sins of mankind.

Now
In the case of Jesus Christ
The Pharisees wanted him crucified on the cross
Thus he was crucified, despite of the Governor's effort to spare him the punishment
Let me ask all here
how long before Christ died on the cross?
It wasn't very long, right? It doesn't even last a day
Why?
because there's a Roman soldier guarding the cross took pity on Christ
he thrusted Christ's rib with the shape edge of his spear
It was not an act of brutality; it was meant to cause him quicker death
so he can die from lost of blood
the soldier spare Christ from the pain of dying slowly on the cross

That, ladies and gentlemen, is MERCY KILLING !

Matisyahu's song King Without a Crown:

MATISYAHU LYRICS

King Without A Crown

[Chorus:]
What's this feeling?
My love will rip a hole in the ceiling
Givin' myself to you from the essence of my being
Sing to my God all these songs of love and healing
Want Mashiach now so it's time we start revealing

You're all that I have and you're all that I need
Each and every day I pray to get to know you please
I want to be close to you, yes I'm so hungry
You're like water for my soul when it gets thirsty
Without you there's no me
You're the air that I breathe
Sometimes the world is dark and I just can't see
With these, demons surround all around to bring me down to negativity
But I believe, yes I believe, I said I believe
I'll stand on my own two feet
Won't be brought down on one knee
Fight with all of my might and get these demons to flee
Hashem's rays fire blaze burn bright and I believe
Out of darkness comes light, twilight unto the heights
Crown Heights burnin' up all through the twilight
Said, thank you to my God, now I finally got it right
And I'll fight with all of my heart, and all a' my soul, and all a' my might

[Chorus]

[Bridge:]
Me no want no sinsemilla.
That would only bring me down
Burn away my brain no way my brain is to compound
Elevated my soul you're a flying my sound
Like the sun of a sun ray burning up through a cloud
Torah food for my brain let it rain till I drown
Thunder!
Let the blessings come down

Strip away the layers and reveal your soul
Got to give yourself up and then you become whole
You're a slave to yourself and you don't even know
You want to live the fast life but your brain moves slow
If you're trying to stay high then you're bound to stay low
You want God but you can't deflate your ego
If you're already there then there's nowhere to go
If you're cup's already full then its bound to overflow
If you're drowning in the water's and you can't stay afloat
Ask Hashem for mercy and he'll throw you a rope
You're looking for help from God you say he couldn't be found
Looking up to the sky and searchin' beneath the ground
Like a King without his Crown
Yes, I wanna get down
A King without his Crown
Yes, you keep fallin' down
You really want to live but can't get rid of your frown
Tried to reach unto the heights and wound bound down on the ground
Given up your pride and the you heard a sound
Out of night comes day and out of day comes light
Nullified to the One like sunlight in a ray,
Makin' room for his love and a fire gone blaze

[Chorus]

Reelin' him in
Where ya been
Where ya been
Where ya been for so long
It's hard to stay strong been livin' in galus (exile) for 2000 years strong
Where ya been for so long
Been livin in this exile for too long

What if the God everyone worships is not really the God but it is actually satan? How are we to know that Satan didn't bring religions? Isn't it possible that Satan brought all these diffrent religions in this world to make murdorers out of people and have people killing eachother? Do you all blindly folow these religions and so called words of God and seperate yourselves from the true God? No one can say that religions are good.... if you say such a thing you are blind to the reality and you are very ignorant... how many people should die for us to understand that God never brought religions? (After all Satan is here to mislead us till we die... am I wrong???)

I mean, if we use our critical and logical faculties to get through daily life, why abandon these when we come to books written by fellow-humans a long time ago "when things were rotten"?! :)

If you don't understand me, don't answer.

I don't believe in god/gods, I grew up going to a privite school (til 5th grade) and even when I was little I thought it all a big joke. I wish my parents had not baptized me..I would have liked a say in the matter. I'm not going to baptize my daughter because I want her to grow, learn and educate herself and make whatever decision she wants.

Most so-called liberal theologians and commentators, along with not a few conservatives, have followed the theory that a number of unknown writers and editors, during the period of Israel’s history from about the time of King Hezekiah to that of Ezra the Scribe, compiled and edited several old legends and traditions, verbally transmitted not only by their own Israeli ancestors but also by the Egyptians, Babylonians, and others, into the Book of Genesis. Presumably they then allowed the story to be circulated that these had come down from Moses, in order to invest them with the authority of their great Lawgiver.
