Malay culture and Islamic belief is different.
There is a lot of Malay culture which is actually go against the teaching of Islam.
As for ghost( lansuir,pontianak ..etc), I believe it exist. It is another form of God being called Jinn, created from smokeless fire. Such as Angels is another of God being from light.

What the heck marshal... why must a malay ashamed being a muslims? Only sick people does ashamed of what they are..
Well to answer to ur questions, Islam does told that the jinn, and syaitan exists in this world which we as muslims have to believe their existance..
But about the pontianak thing... of course malays culture name those hantu and to know more about it better ask ustaz or ustazah. They exist but of course it was satans games..

Malays is not equal to muslims. Putting the two together is wrong. Many malays are ashamed of being called muslims now, just refer to some of the recent news in malaysia.
Anyone who says the 2 are the same is trying to extend the arm of evil islam.
