Thats perfectly normal and rather noble of you! Your daughter will be thankful for giving her the chance to choose for herself.

If you want to get your infant daughter baptized, then the church should most definitely not allow a baptism based on what you've said in your post. This sacrament is a covenant between God and man, who as a result of his salvation, enters into the covenant as obedience to the Lord and promises to conduct his household in a Christian manner -- which you have asserted that you will not do. The church would also promise to raise your child in accordance with biblical principles, and they would never get the chance to do this.
It's kind of sad to say this, but since baptism is defined by Protestant paedobaptist churches as a "marking out" of God's own, your child does not deserve baptism if you do not believe in God and refuse to raise her in a way that honors Him.

The first person baptized with holy spirit was Jesus. He was 29 years old. Everyone after that was also an adult who made their own decision what religion they wanted to be baptized as. It is a choose that only an adult can make not a parent for his child. PERSONAL CHOSE!

While I don't think you came to any real harm or disadvantage in your life by being baptized, I think you are right in letting your daughter decide for herself. HOWEVER, if you yourself are not a spiritual or religious person, how are you expecting your daughter to gain the knowledge about religion that she may need or want? Eventually you, as her parent, will have to take up the subject with her if you really want her to be informed.

I am a fundamental Christian (so you know where I'm coming from) and I don't think you should baptize your daughter. Infant or child baptism has no point to it, since you are not at the age of accountability.
Let her grow up, be open-minded and let her make her own decision. Free will is only gift and choice we have this world. God Bless!

Their is nothing wrong with wanting your daughter to choose for herself. Just remember to teach her about religion while she is growing up. My brother made the same choice you are asking about. Neither of my nieces on his side are baptised. The only think I see which is wrong is that e does not teach them about religion or the Church. They are ignorant of GOD. Do not let your children be ignorant of GOD nor of the Church.

thats how im gona raise my kids, lol,im 16...atheist...or maybe agnostic, i mean, i dont believe in a god..but i mean, who am i, a lowly, insignificant species of a planet in a galaxy in the universe, to say that there is no god... we dont kno how the universe originated, or even what we are... the fact that we cant even SEE the REAL universe means that im in no position to say what is real and what is not... lol, a bit off-topic, sorry. i believe u made the right choice by not baptising her. even if she grows up to believe in a god, let's hope its not the christian evil demon devil called God... lol. belief in a god just means that that person will live a different lifestyle. it wudnt affect their life in any other way, unless they take it too seriously. it may even be a good thing, a guide to life in a way.. without a god, or goddess(who i wud really enjoy praying to more) it's kind of a lonely life...

No, I don't think it's wrong of you to not baptize her. I think it's a good thing you are doing, leaving the choice up to her.

Per the word of God belief is to come first. Then the water baptism is an outward show of an inward conviction.
Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. Acts 8:35-38 KJV HOLY BIBLE
It may interest you to know that all are already condemned outside of Jesus Christ.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:16-18 KJV HOLY BIBLE
It is a terrible thing to shirk your responsibility parenting your daughter with regards to bringing her up in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ as the bible tells us to. Will you let her walk across the street and hope she learns how to look both ways on her own? What about brushing her teeth or will she go years before she figures that out too?
By the way per scripture your baptism didn’t do anything for you. If you are secretly hoping it did something for you by your own testimony it was all in vain. Unless you consider the fact that now you got to hear about this opportunity found only in Jesus Christ.
If you both end up in hell she won't love you anymore and will wonder why her daddy didn't warn her of the awful place and who could have saved her from it. You won't be able to stand hearing her scream in agony but will have to endure it anyway. You won't be able to alleviate her pain or yours but will have to take it anyway.
The time to look out for her is NOW. Repent, seek forgiveness and live your life for God through Christ Jesus. Guide her to the savior and trust God to save your family.
Don't you see, Jesus is the truth the way and the life. He is the only hope.

You're right to not want to baptize her. Religion should not be forced onto anyone. Look how you feel now.

That's the most fair thing you could do. Let her decide for herself. But don't judge her harshly if she eventually wants to be a Christian! This is coming from an Atheist, btw. Be nice!
