They were not as backward as you think in the time of Christ. They have houses and hotels-remember the the reason why Christ was born in the manger was because the innkeeper can't get them accommodations because the inn was full. A manger is where they place food for the animals inside the stable, another building structure different from a manger that would require a little knowledge of carpentry to erect.

Ok, I wil give you a serios answer. At that time in history animals lived inside the houses of people. This implies that people had houses. The animals lived on the ground floor and people on the 1st floor. And anyway, even if they didn't, they would still need carpenters to build the places in which animals lived, didn't they? i mean, what were you expecting, that they lived in caves back then?

My belief was a manger was like a feeding troth for the animals and such. He was a carpenter and probably made cribs and tables and chairs and built houses and the like. He worked with Joseph.

Yes, they knew what houses were and the kings lived in castles. King David lived in a castle.. Bathsheba lived in a house and the king could see her on the rooftops.

Anyway.. that is one explanation

GOOD LUCK

Not everyone live in mangers thats why, just animals and people that were poor. They definitly had houses although the story of Jesus itself is very questionable.

maximum carpenters do no longer stay a depressing life till they pick to. Jesus' commerce replaced right into a chippie till it replaced into time for Him to start His ministry and then visit the go for the sins of all who could believe in Him. His misery replaced into as a results of fact human beings, and His suffering replaced into as a results of fact human beings. He took our blame and did so willingly out of affection for us.

He was born there but not by choice but by necesities... and it seems you don't know anything about the people back then in his childhood as if they were Adam and Eve.

But as it is, He was not a carpenter... Saint Joseph was.
