about ten years ago i was walking to school with my friends. there was a church about 500 feet away next to my school.the church had a tall pole like figure sticking up in the sky.me and my friends noticed at the tip there was a star, in broad daylight. once we got next to the church and looked up again, the star was gone. was this a sign from God, or was it just a coincidence?

Years ago things were less complicated and less busy and I had such a zeal and passion for God and I LOVED going to church I was the first to get there and the last to leave.

But of late since 2001 I have not had the passion and the zeal for God that I would like to have like I did back then.

God has blessed me and I want in turn to bless and encourage others.

However I would like to have more zeal and enthuisiam when it comes to going to church and there have been some people in my church who have been very demanding of me, have not ministered to me in my time of need, and basically are the first to take from me but the very last to give in return.

I have not been excited or enthused about church in a long time and I feel badly because it is a prildige to go to church, How do I reenew my mind in this case and start to go ahead in my Christian walk?

Decieved? This is clearly, not Jesus Christ with a military weapon in his hand. What gives?

I think it is not right to think that because God is not human and will never be, so he cannot have children. Jesus was a messenger to people to give them the word of God. Nothing more than a messenger given the power to revive the dead.

I think it is such a bad thing to think that, to think God is an average person like you and me. He is more powerful than human comprehension.

A common question put to Christians is 'If 'Thou shalt not Kill' why is the Death Penalty justified?'

The response is almost invariably, 'Because it is inaccuratly translated, when translated correctly, it says 'Thou shalt not do Murder', which is legitametly different.

There's just one problem.

This argument admits that the Bible is a translation and therefore not completely accurate and cannot be taken literaly, word-for-word.

So, statisticly speaking, if you're an Evangelical Christian who believes the Bible is the literal word of God.. how can you support the Death Penalty?

Which is wrong, The Bible or the Death Penalty?

Isaiah 55:8-9 says

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts".

I think this is right.

Think of the capacity and limitations of the human brain. We expand our minds greatly just to figure out some basics of the earth.

Would you want a G-d that is fully comprehendible to you? One that can be fully understood by a human? Does that sound like a very powerful G-d?

I like one that is SO far ahead af a human, I can barely understand a thing. We DO need faith to believe, as he is so ahead of us.

Any thoughts on this??

Blessings to y'all

I am relocating in a few days.

After serving in a very difficult and hard ministry for 13 years I feel it is time to move on and go forward and my husband feels the same way.

I have had some bad experiences with this church and some people have exhausted my resources including some people in spiriutal authority.

How can I move forward with this and what are godly ways I can aviod badmouthing this church when I move?

And when will the mark of the beast come into play because it says in the bible that no man or woman will be allowed to eat buy things, sell or trade unless they have to mark of the beast. Will you take the mark?

Her bio says she was an Adventist. Which Seventh-day Adventist Church in Lexington, KY did Shirley Ardell Mason (aka "Sybil") attend?
Does anyone remember attending church with her in Lexington, KY? I have family who are SDA in the area and they don't remember Shirley Ardell Mason. The Adventist community is pretty small, and I'm positive someone out there knows the answer to this.

Just curious. Thanks for your help

I feel bad that I wasted so much of my life being angered that the wicked and sinful prosper see Psalm 73.

I never knew what it was truly like to be a christian until I was severly tested by trials and I said wait a minute I love the Lord, I read my bible and I pray How could God do this to me I was angry at God for 2 years.

Instead of being mature and accepting the hard time I fought God How could I have been so misguided? How can I make certain that I follow the good Lord and never walk away from Him again?

I just feel badly that I wasted so much time on worthless things instead of growing in Christ, Has this ever happened to you?

Whatever your religious beliefs are now, they'd be different if you were born in another area of the world where those beliefs aren't readily taught. Christian vs. Islamic nation, for example. You'd be the same person with different beliefs. Or am I wrong?

Is God's name Jehovah? If it is, who calls him that? Certainly not Jesus. Jesus undoubtedly calls him Pop or Dad or Father. So who else is up there who calls God Jehovah, says things like "Good Morning, Jehovah, How ya doin' today?"

Maybe all the people from Earth, when they go to Heaven, they talk to God and call him by his first name? "Hi Jehovah! Sure is a nice place you got here!"

I'm sorta wonderin' why God would even have a name, if nobody calls him that. And who gave him that name anyway?
