Been there, done that. Try and make as many things right and relationships strong as you can before you leave. It is tough when you have to drag past failures and dissapointments along with you. Pray to God and fully forgive everyone who has offended you there. If you learn to fully forgive it sure clears the air for making a new start.
God bless you in your new work.

It's easy. Badmouthing is not godly, if that's the way you have to do things.
Badmouthing isn't smart. It makes people in a new place wonder what you're going to say about them if you ever 'move on' to another place.
Remember that nobody did anything to you, if your resources were exhausted, it is only because you allowed it to happen. All you can do is learn from it, move on, and keep striving for happiness.

I'm in a similar situation and just recently left my church where I belonged almost 8 years. There are many bad things that happened while I was there that I can tell you about and that was the main reason for me leaving, but I'm focusing on the positive. If it weren't for that church, I wouldn't be the strong Christian I am today because their questioning of my beliefs strengthened my resolved and helped me to realize what I truly do believe and also to see where that church was wrong. I had wanted to leave that church for 7 of the 8 years I was there because of the hypocrisy I saw there, but I prayed to God constantly asking for permission to leave and every time God said "No, you need to stay there for now, you still have things to learn from them." In June of 2006, I asked again, and I felt God nodding his head and giving me permission saying I've learned all I can from them.
I tried to preserve the friendships I had in the church before I left, talked to them beforehand so they knew the reasons why I was leaving. They all said they understood and that it wouldn't affect our friendship, but 6 months later, I have only 3 friends from that church, out of about a dozen close friends. It makes me sad that my leaving really did affect the friendships, but I'm moving on.
Good luck with whatever you choose to do, but if you do leave, focus on the good things, how the church helped you. Must have done some good if you were there 13 years :o)

Many times God allows us 'bad experiences' to get us to move on to better things He has for us....He always has the best in store for His children.....
I suggest you find His purpose in the move and ask for His guidance and purpose .
God Bless, it ain't always easy....but it is always worth the trip.
God is in control and knows everything in detail that is happening;
He will never leave you nor forsake you.

Find one thing that happened while you were there that you are truly thankful for and focus on it. Praise God for it. Make the decision to forgive the rest. God bless you on your new journey.

Simply tell them that the Lord has requested your prescence elsewhere. Tell them you're doing the Lord's work.
