The bible tells me so.
It is part of the foundational Christian faith statements. Jesus Christ is much more than just a messenger. Read the book of John. John is also an eye witness of the crucifixion.
Jesus came from heaven to earth, born of a virgin, as a human. Jesus is the Word part of the Trinity. He had to win us back life, by being tempted like the first Adam, yet overcoming the devils deception (as a human). We all have the sin nature from the first Adam. The wages of sin is death. So all die. Jesus is the last Adam, in that He overcame sin & death and raised from the dead. We also can be resurrected to everlasting life, if we receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.
Jesus is much more than a messenger. He Is The Messenger. He is the fulfillment of the law & Prophets. He is also fulfillment of the Sabbaths.
Also, Jesus operated on earth as a human filled with the Power of the Holy Spirit (after His water baptism). He healed, did miracles by the power of the Holy Spirit to be an example for us to follow. We also receive the Holy Spirit when we are born again, reborn spiritually. The Holy Spirit is the seal unto the day of redemption. We also will raise from the dead. Jesus is also firstborn from the dead, in that He was without sin, death was defeated.

God allowed His Son Jesus to come to the earth not only to die for our sins and be that final blood sacrifice required for our redemption but He also sent Him so that He could see and experience first hand the trials, tribulations, temptations, pain and sufferings we endure. He is our intercessor to God. Don't you think that now that He has been here to earth and knows from an earthly standpoint how it feels to go through all that He is better able to take our requests to the Father with love and concern and compassion? You are right about one thing, He is more powerful than human comprehension. That's why if He decided He wanted to come to earth and live among the people He certainly had it within His power to do that. And that's just exactly what He did. What's beyond MY human comprehension is how He could love me so much to do that for me. How He who was without sin could take on the sin of the world so that I might have eternal life. I have never been loved like that before. Never known anyone else who would die for me for ANY reason. Have you?

Jesus is God's son, but he is also God.
Have you ever heard of the Trinity? There is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The best way I found to help in visualizing this is to think of an apple. There are three parts to an apple: the skin, the fruit, and the core. There are also three parts to God like I named above. Now, the apple has three parts but it is all still an apple. There is the skin (God the Father) for protection, the fruit (God the Son - Jesus) which is the part for nourishment (salvation), and then there is the core (God the Holy Spirit) which is what is left behind when the fruit is gone (like how the Holy Spirit was left as a comforter for Christians when Jesus ascended into heaven). Just like all three parts of the apple are all one apple (skin, fruit, and core), God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are all one God. Jesus is God and because he loved us he came to earth in human form to die for our sins. It is true that God is more powerful than human comprehension and perhaps that's why it is hard for us to imagine him loving us so much to send his son to die for our sins.
It is kind of confusing and the apple analogy is the best way I've found so far to help visualize it.

Yes, but since we never seen GOD or an image or anything to associate him with then we just categorize him as a normal joe and hold Jesus higher. But you have to remember Jesus is the son of GOD...son To me the father almighty and who is more powerful than Jesus is GOD so we should definitely not put him in a category with the rest of us his powers are beyond what human scientists can ever comprehend if they were to live 100 times over.

Yes Jesus is, was and will always be the son of God who came to earth to suffer for all of our sins, so that we can live forever in the kingdom of heaven. Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice.
Jesus was proof of the prophesies, and think of how 2000 years ago with very little means of communication it was to come that he would have such a tremendous following that grows stronger each and every day. To believe in something you can not touch but know it to be true is what faith is.

Refered to as the Son of Man and the Son of God we see that Jesus was something special. Jesus like all of us is a man. But there is that other part about being th eSon of God. It simply means that He is like His father in that He is of the same substance and character...ie, God.
He was not the average person and He was quite powerful" but He did not consider equality with God something to be grasped". This is referring to what happend in the garden of eden. Jesus being "the second Adam" gives us a tremendous clue into the character of God, namely the humilty of God. So this means that God is not above calling us His children and caring for us and showing us mercy and dieing for us. The incarnation of God Almighty is not a thing to be taken lightly in disbelief. If you will examine the life and teachings of Jesus I think you will find a man with something neither you or I have occuring naturally within us and that is a heart of humilty and gentleness. The Sacred Heart of God.(to borrow from my Catholic bretheren)

Jesus is Almighty God's son in that Almighty God wasdirectly responsible for his creation
Proverbs 8; 22-31.
Jesus was alongside his Father long before he was sent to earth.
He was in existence when the prophecy of Genesis 3; 15,16 was written. It is about a clash between Jesus and Satan.

The infinite God uses human language to give us enough of an idea about Himself, so that we might know Him better. If God expresses His relationship with Jesus as Father-Son, then we ought to take it for what it's worth: as the best way to describe their relationship to humans who understand internal family titles.
Just because Jesus calls God "Father" doesn't mean that we must think of God as a person in every way like you and me. These ideas are non-sequitur.

You are finding yourself in the category referred to in the Bible..Attempting to intellectually understand things which in reality are far beyond intellectual understanding. Until that understanding is made available to you, you will have to accept what is stated within the Bible, as it is the only reference to this state of being.
There are several explanations for those willing to read and understand...There is a hierarchy in heaven..The Christ is a priest forever and is considered the Prince of Peace.. There is however, another with the same definition. only is considered the King of Peace.. All being subservient to God. As are the angels.
