When I'm in extreme pain, I think of the people who are in worse pain, and ask myself what keeps them going through it all.

Islam, Christianity, Jewish....they are all Abrahamic Religions, though people never seem to get along with each other...How in your opinion is the best way for dialogue between these major religions?

When science develops medication for their heart diseases, diabetes and cancer, then it's all right and genius!
When doctors detect (and sometimes cure) a birth defect of their children using genetics and biology, there is no doubt they're absolutely correct!
But woah, when they say that yeah we kinda have been on earth longer than what the Bible states, and that genetically we evolved from an ancient primate, now they are completely retarded!
Where's the logic in that?

(and can you whisper "hypocrite")

If I am right it matters a lot. It seems logical but I feel that it lets one believe in God for the wrong reasons but reason cannot prove God's existence, only faith. A pastor said something along these lines once and I felt that it was a message to perhaps do the bare minimum but in the Bible this isn't the right approach. If i am to be a good Christian I should believe in God and Jesus, obey their commands and life a life of servitude and love. If, after all, their is no God then I guess I just wasted my time. What do you think? Do most christians love God out of fear of Hell, or because God is a good God worthy of service, faith, and love.

I heard this song in 1999-2000 in class and I think it's by a New Age band, any help would be greatly appreciated. Someone had taped it for me on a cassett most of the other songs are instumental. Thanks in advance, here are the lyrics:

An enchanted moment just the two of us hand in hand making plans for life
All the good times that we shared bad times too
Can't explain the reasons why I'm loosing you
Should have known that this love wouldn't last forever
Should have known that love can be so unkind
So let me fly away fly away
Today's the day we say goodbye
Tomorrow we cry
So let me hold you one more time tonight
all the good times that we shared bad times too
can't explain the reasons why I'm loosing you
Should have known that this love wouldn't last forever
Should have known that love can be so unkind
So let me fly away fly away
Should have known that this love would last forever
Should have known that love can be so unkind
So let me fly away fly away

I seem to be getting conflicting messages. Some quote passages which seem to say that Muslims are to fight infidels until their religion becomes Islam. Others say no that's not true.
Please help me understand the truth about what Islam really teaches. I have no way of knowing who is right. I tried to read the Qur'an and I see conflicting messages there too, or so it seems to me.

Jehovah's Witnesses got me thinking...

Jesus was condemning religious titles with his words below; how does the Catholic Church reconcile Jesus' instruction with its fondness for such titles and with "Father" in particular?

(Matt. 23:8,9, KJV) But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

The apostles and early church leaders were largely married, although it seems St. Paul wasn't (St. Paul even wrote to recommend singleness for the Lord). Yet even St Paul wrote that the then-future apostasy would forbid ministers to marry. How does the Catholic Church reconcile this seeming indictment?

(1 Tim. 4:1-3, KJV) Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry

It was just a few minutes ago. I was listening to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra when my gramps waddled in sheepishly and attempted to get me in a headlock. I squawked in pure terror at the hideous sight of his bare lard barrels. He seemed to be gallavanting in slow motion around me, mumbling his native tongue under his breath in a sinister manner, while I was staring, mouth agape, watching his soiled and unsanitary lard crevices bobbing up and down. You see, he isn't due for his annual bath until December 28th. Anyway, I exuberantly stood up and told him he must vacate the premises. He did not heed my request, so I located my tranquilizer gun and shot him in the liver. He began to sway uncontrollably and flew down the stairs, his gastrointestinal tract seemed to wave at me as he passed by my range of vision. I quivered slightly as I watched the eyesore of a corpse soar down the staircase. I wandered down after him, and found his futile remains draped across the mahogany staircase. It was then that the realization of my actions sunk in. What should I do about my gramps?

Some say that germs, God and the gun ruined Africa. Africa was on top of the world, we ruled the world before anybody. Why do historians want to take away our history and accomplishments. Is it our skin color, is it jelously or just ignorance? There are times I say screw it, we did do a lot for the world, but some choose to put us down. Some even go as far as to say Egyptians are caucasians, why? Egypt is in Africa not Europe, it's almost saying black people aren't that brilliant. We are the first kingdoms and civilization, it doesn't make sense !

“If men harm a woman with child so that here fruit depart her…they should pay a fine as determined by a judge.” This seems to say abortion is a minor sin in God's eyes.
The next verse says, “…if more mischief follows, (kills the woman)eye for an eye tooth” for tooth.

But Jesus says, in Matthew 5:38-48 “ It was said of old, an “eye for an eye tooth for tooth”…But I say onto you Love you enemies, etc

Maybe Jesus new covenant allows for abortion (which God seemed not to think was minor anyway) and freedom from the death penalty. Jesus really was a Liberal wasn’t he?
