Spirits can be spirits of the dead, or angels, or demons.

Paranormal activity occurs in this reality, but not in this dimension (it's "out of phase"). We must rely on extrasensory precepts to notice the effects of paranormal activities such as astral bodies. For a long time, such concepts were accepted as psychological phenomena only--however, with the advancements of science, it has been proven that one may actually leave their physical body. Since they are out of phase with the dimensions visible to us, they are undetected by our senses but can be picked up by precise electromagnetic sensors.
"What are" those spirits is hard to define since they are not in this dimension. Some may be more advanced, some may be free astral bodies (ghosts), some may be mere insect-like creatures.

paranormal or metaphychic is that scientists can't explain YET. they promise a lot in the future,however.

DEPENDS SOME ARE FORM DEMONIC PRESCENCE AND OTHERS ARE ANGEL BUT ALOT OF THE PARANORMAL STUUF IS MORE DEMONIC
