Before you tell me that Mary was a virgin, I know, as a muslim I agree. My point is that according to Christian scholars God felt Mary was old enough to have Jesus when she was 12 years old.

Moreover Christian scholars say that at this time she married Joseph, and he was in his 30s or 40s. If you say that Aisha was a victim of Muhammad, then you have to equally say that Mary was a victim of God/Joseph.

So, where they both victims? or neither of them?
I say neither

I, and millions of others, donate money to St. Judes Children's hospital. We have compassion for the poor children who are unlucky enough to get cancers, rare diseases, etc. Why these children get sick (and sometimes die) is a mystery, but I've been told that god allows these things to happen to teach all of us lessons.

Obviously, I (and others) do not agree with god's tactics, so we try to save these poor children. Were we to not do this, many, if not most of these children, would die.

So perhaps this compassionate god allows them to get sick, and then demonstrates his compassion by working through me, an atheist, but I prefer to think that I am acting of my own volition. Either way can't be proven.

That said, how exactly does god show his compassion in a way we CAN PROVE it is him, and not luck/random chance, or human free will? You can have all the faith, and recite all the verse, but without real proof, god is no more compassionate than he is indifferent.

Please give examples.

I mean I see so many memorial signs that say "don't steal flowers". Do people have no conscience or no soul?
And what do they do with the flowers? Take them home or put it on a friend's grave?

P.S. I couldn't as I feel this would haunt my conscience.

The reason I ask is because so many of you tell me that when I die, I will have to "face god" and answer for my atheism (which I guess is supposed to scare me.)

Also, many of you keep advising me that it's better to believe in god and "play it safe" than to risk the alternative (whatever that is), which you seem to be deathly afraid of.

Further, I've been informed by many of you that humans are NOT descended from less evolved primates, but were made complete, "as we are", in your god's image.

So to sum up...

1) You fear having to face your god as non-believers
2) You fear dying and going to hell (or at least NOT to your god)
3) You fear the idea that we evolved from ape-like ancestors

It appears as though your entire belief system is predicated on FEAR, and not on spreading love as so many of you claim.

Am I misunderstanding something? I'm only going by the statements that all of YOU are making to me.
