I thought that God was "the same yesterday, today and forever", but in the Mormon religion it seems that the Holy Ghost received an "Advance to Godhead" card without all the hassle of a mortal experience.

How can Mormons claim that a requirement for Godhead is a mortal body and experience - including the need for Baptism, Gift of the Holy Ghost, the Priesthood for men, temple endowments and celestial marriage - when a member of the Mormon Godhead did not need to follow these steps?

How about rating each item on a scale of one to ten. "One" would mean that we should be least inclined to cry about this. "Ten" would mean we should be most inclined to cry about this.

a. We couldn't get pizza tonight.

b. We couldn't eat at our favorite restaraunt.

c. Someone has more money than me.

d. We miss the kingdom of the Supreme Being.

e. We lament our attachment to illicit sense gratification.

f. We did poorly on an exam.

g. I know someone who is more attractive than me.

(You can copy and paste if you like.)

Why do you keep asking us to "prove" the existence of God with any means necessary EXCEPT the bible?

Are you really THAT threatened by the Bible??

Are you REALLY looking for answers that will change YOUR beliefs?? and if so wouldn't that make you Agnostic??

It seems moronically funny to me that A lot (not all) athiests on this board are so hell bent (pun intended) on having a Christian on this board PROVE to them that God exists when based on their questions and what they seem to be looking for answers is.. that God DOES exist... (again I say some not all agnostics on this board)

If you earnestly, want need to or are seeking answers about God... how about trying to pray... even if you don't believe... Shouldn't hurt you if you are right and there is no God...

BUT..

If there is a God then you just might get the answers you are so desperatly searching for!!

I dare you. Ha... now go on slam away.. sokay I can handle it :) and yeah.. I'm being somewhat facetious (sp?)

Most bible prophecy people believe this could be the treaty the bible talks about regarding the antichrist. The EU in January 2007(not to many more days to go) will talk peace with Israel and sign a 7 year treaty. With this in mind the rapture is not to far away folks. So christians what do you think, or what do you feel about this? Do you worry about being left behind? genuine replies only, and this questions is only for christians because non christians probally would not understand as it would be like teaching a grade one student university stuff. Thanks

This question is specifically for those that A) are christians and B) believe in evolution. If you are one of those Christians that wants to spam this saying how "fake" evolution is or not both A & B apply to you, please do not respond.

Although I've always believed in God and the Bible, I've never studied it. I was turned off by organized religion due to personal issues and I am now seriously studying the Bible and doing my best to follow the will of God. However, I look around and see so many people living together and having sex before marriage. I have not done so yet and I was just wondering if anyone thinks that two people in a relationship could live together purely before marriage.

I personally believe that they can if they share the same beliefs but it just seems like there aren't a lot of people who live together without doing so. I'd really like to get some guys points of view on this one . . . could you live with a girl you love without doing anything sexual? I'd really like to know if there is still hope. And please don't lash out at me for this question, all I want is an honest answer without having to be mean about it. Religion is being bashed enough in this section. Thank you very much!

Beginning from one Fertalized egg, that, by nature, split into two?
And so on and so on and so on and here they are...... in this forum.

And I am talking about one egg and one sperm, fertalized to create one complete human life (sometimes two or more as in multiples). Not skin cells or bacteria from a dirty toilet....
but, HUMAN LIFE, from a fertalized egg created only by one egg and one sperm. Ask any scientist and they will tell you the facts. Also, watch a sonogram from even a few weeks in the womb, before that, watch a high powered microfilm of fertalization in action. Science has done wonders in recent years!

P.s. Please give up the "Egg destroyed in menturation" or
"Sperm destroyed in masterbation". These alone are NOT human life, but living cells to yet be united with it's opposite to create this perfect or sometimes not perfect "Human Life"! BEAUTIFUL!

I was raised a Christian but never really felt comfortable or accepting of the ideas behind Catholicism and Christianity. After a long time of soul searching, I have found that I believe wholeheartedly in the Jewish faith and that it really adds a lot of meaning to my life. I would like to be Jewish but (this might sound terrible) I have no time for the conversion process which lasts months. I am a full time student and working in almost all my other free time. Would it be wrong for me to call myself a Jew? Thank you.

if we set the age of our earth to a 24 hour clock mode, human life appeared only a fraction of a second before the clock hit the 12 hour mark.
why did god have to wait so many billions of years before making sure that human life appears only yesterday?

I wonder if any one out there has played this game before? When I was 10 years old, I and other 5 children each used a digit finger to life a body up from the ground. The (alive) body was laying stiff and was very very light when we lifted it up. We chanted a simple phrase, I forgot what it was, but I remember the "body lifting" game. Has anyone played this game?
