Most bible prophecy people believe this could be the treaty the bible talks about regarding the antichrist. The EU in January 2007(not to many more days to go) will talk peace with Israel and sign a 7 year treaty. With this in mind the rapture is not to far away folks. So christians what do you think, or what do you feel about this? Do you worry about being left behind? genuine replies only, and this questions is only for christians because non christians probally would not understand as it would be like teaching a grade one student university stuff. Thanks

I studied religion in college for many years. I fail to see where a EU peace treaty has anything to do with the "rapture" (also unmentioned in the Bible). Much, actually nearly all, of the "last days" prophecies in the Bible concerned items already occurred; that is, the Maccabean Revolt (Daniel) and the Roman Empire (Revelation).

Oh that's interesting. You know some translations imply that it is reaffirming a peace treaty I believe. So it might not necessarily mean the rapture is right around the corner. But if the meaning is to create a 7 year peace treaty and that is the proper understanding of the verses involved and it is INDEED signed, it is certainly remarkable times we live in and the clock will begin to tick at that time. 7 more years before the Lord's return. How wonderful! Well not for the earth at that time but you know what I mean.
I'm not afraid of being left behind. I'm watching and waiting and prepared with my oil in my lamp.

Come again...why does the EU need to sign a peace treaty with Israel? Are they in a war?
