I agree with Heather. Why bother asking if you don't believe?

"Are you really THAT threatened by the Bible??"
..............LOL!!
Yeah. We're threatened by a book written by stupid Bronze-Age tribesmen.
"Are you REALLY looking for answers that will change YOUR beliefs?? "
All the time.
Are you? No. You're not. Otherwise, you wouldn't be whining.
"It seems moronically funny to me that A lot (not all) athiests on this board are so hell bent (pun intended) on having a Christian on this board PROVE to them that God exists when based on their questions and what they seem to be looking for answers is.. that God DOES exist... (again I say some not all agnostics on this board)"
It seems ironic to me that you're running in circles... you're asserting that "God DOES exist", and you're not providing any proof.
" you earnestly, want need to or are seeking answers about God... how about trying to pray... even if you don't believe... Shouldn't hurt you if you are right and there is no God..."
How arrogant of you to assume that most of us haven't done so already. Tell me... what is the point of praying to a being that is all-knowing? If your God is all-knowing, certainly he knew that I would come to the conclusion that he doesn't exist and would provide me with the evidence necessary to believe in him... that is, if he existed. But he doesn't, and you still can't prove that he does.
"If there is a God then you just might get the answers you are so desperatly searching for!!"
Uh-huh. Well, you're saying there is a God. So that must mean you have all the answers, right?
"I dare you. Ha... now go on slam away.. sokay I can handle it :) and yeah.. I'm being somewhat facetious (sp?)"
Okay, but your intimidation is pretty ineffective. It's like you tried to throw a snowball at me but it turned into powder as soon as it left your hand.
If you want to continue this "debate", email me.

The bible is the only place in which God exists. He seems to be absent in the natural world and in the universe. The reason why most atheists are on here is that humans help humans. Most atheists and secular humanists are trying to help those that are infected by the mind virus, known as religion. It may not be your fault, we are all forced at an early age to inherit our parents religion. We mostly do not have a choice and stick with those as we get older.
Only in a few of us has religion not taken root and we have maintained our humility about our true place in the Universe. We humans are so tiny and insignificant and rare and precious. Religion tries to feel your head with that you are the most important species in all the Universe. And by the way, you could no more prove god DOES exist than I could prove that he doesn't. But the laws of nature and natural selection does not require a designer.
Even the beginning of the universe because if the universe is "infinitely old" then it never began. It something never began, it could never be created, it was always around. Life has always evolved in some form of another in the universe. And on some planets, intelligence and awareness has taken root. That remains to be seen on this planet, especially the awareness part.

I read the bible in more then one version and language. Books on theology and i spent most of my life as a Christian. I can honestly say i dont believe in God. The Bible is fairytale and no thereat to anybody. Its the madness that is driven by religion and your bible thats a thereat to civilized world. Your bible peers are looking for the end of the world to happen. I done my share of praying it never worked. Praying has no more of an effect then closing you eyes and wishing for a pot of gold to magically appear. I wish there was a God but any person that truly examines there faith and its history. Will find its a fraud.

I'm Christian and very spiritual. It seems to me that religion is a topic that creates a lot of contreversy. I don't care if I get criticize for what I believe....I pray that my faith never fades. Finding God and having faith NO MATTER what is the best thing that ever happened to me. But I'm not going to try to put other people down for what they believe. God loves everyone :)

well, in my own experience, i have never met one atheist who wasnt serious about God. Thats one reason i have a soft spot for them. To the question, though, atheism is a recent idea...people back then didnt question whether or not there was a God..they were witnessing the transcendent for themselves. Today, people think because they cant see god, god does not exist. Islamic scholar Hamza Yusuf Hanson puts that idea this way:
if there was a boy who, from the time he was born, never left his house, and never saw a window, the boy would only believe the things he saw (the inside of the house and walls). If a person comes in from the outside and tells him that there is something beyond the walls (outside), the boy will still not believe there is something out there until he sees it...
i guess what im trying to say is that perception is deception, and we must acknowledge that we cannot base our knowledge off of experience alone. Revelation is valid! Ive never seen a million dollars, but i know that it exists!

Well, the thing is, scientificly speaking you're making some pretty extraordinary claims and extraordinary claims require extra ordinary proof.
Something writting in a book isn't proving anything. Lots of religious books all claim to be true, by your logic, I should then accept all of them by their word alone?
I have prayed. Infact, I asked god to prove his existance to me and he DID! It did, I should say. Anyhow.. I have since asked him which religion I should follow, but he never responded. I take that to mean 'figure it out for yourself'. So I made up my own and he (it) hasn't indicated disapproval.
“We have heard talk enough. We have listened to all the drowsy, idealess, vapid sermons that we wish to hear. We have read your Bible and the works of your best minds. We have heard your prayers, your solemn groans and your reverential amens. All these amount to less than nothing. We want one fact. We beg at the doors of your churches for just one little fact. We pass our hats along your pews and under your pulpits and implore you for just one fact. We know all about your mouldy wonders and your stale miracles. We want a this year's fact. We ask only one. Give us one fact for charity. Your miracles are too ancient. The witnesses have been dead for nearly two thousand years.”
~ Robert Green Ingersoll (1833-1899)

People ask for something other then the bible, because "the book says so" is seen as a brush off or avoidance of actually thinking about an answer, AND non believers don't accept that one little book is proof. I mean...it's a book... Scientology is based on one to and is nuts...
And also, please do not offend others beliefs by trying to tell us we are trying to change your beliefs. I personally feel that to be a belittling insult. I know myself, my own mind, and what is right for me, thanks.

Nothing will be enough for a skeptic. Look, the Catholic church has the best evidence.. Look here:

You may have to scroll to the top. The second post is amazing.
Just in case you need to answer "Why not amputees?" or "Why does God hate amputees?"
Can you handle it? Or are you also a skeptic?
It makes me wonder if everyone isn't a skeptic.

We just don't take a 2000 year old book written by unidentified zealots as a reliable source.
Reliable sources can be checked. Surely you can come up with some evidence that can be checked that indicates there is a god. If you can't you are just believing in something someone made up.

Sure, it can't hurt to pray, but as the old saying goes:
"Crap in one hand and wish in the other, and see which one fills up first."
One could waste their life praying into empty air, or one could do something productive with their life instead. You pray all you like, and I'll be out there curing cancer for real.
