Just have fun. I'm not trying to insult other religions, that's not it. I'm just trying to find out what people think will be worshipped in the future (because reliigions are created all the time).

Jesus called God Allaha (aramaic)

'And in their footsteps We sent Jesus the son of Mary, confirming the Law that had come before him: We sent him the Gospel: therein was guidance and light, and confirmation of the Law that had come before him: a guidance and an admonition to those who fear Allah.' (Qur'an)

Let's say you are studying the teachings of a particular person, and the teachings seem wise and true. But then you find out that the person was a drunkard and womanizer, or an anti-Semite, or something like that.

Should you just disregard all of their teachings? Or try to find them from another source? Or just take the good and leave the bad?

I try not to. The reason? It's not because it's bad music. Many times, it's fine. I believe it is because I don't feel that kids in rock bands should be the ones teaching me about religion.

To learn, I go to a religious professional I trust (Priest, Bishop, Deacon, etc.)...someone with training who works in the religion I am affiliated with.

It doesn't mean that 20-something kids don't know anything about religion, but do you call your mom if you need to get your cat spayed? Do you go grocery shopping at Best Buy? Do you go to a lawyer if you have gang green on your left foot? Do you go call a child day-care center to hire a plumber?

Well, you might, but I sure don't. I didn't know very much in my early 20's...I'm still learning in my early 30's. I just feel that it is an inappropriate way to learn about the myriad complexities of this thing we call: religion.

What do you think? Do you buy Christian rock?

quick response to some that dont allow email:
all that came out of Jesus's mouth is scripture??? so if Jesus ever said ouch I stubbed my toe that to you is scripture - remember he is in a human body He might have done that- sounds silly to me

sola scriptura is not any where in the Bible - neither is the Trinity but I'm sure you believe in that
Traditions that Paul spoke of - tradition is fine as long as it does not contradict scripture....
Paul refering to outside source to explain to nonbelievers does not make his reference scripture, important and relevant maybe but not on the same level as scripture

okay there is this group of people i know that practice wicca. they say they are neutral wiccan. the only problem with that is one of this group (we shall call him joe) said this to another friend of mine (call him dan)

joe says to dan that in neutral.. natural... whatever... wicca there are things that he does that would be considered part of satan worshiping...

is this possible? and what can you do under such a religion as that, that could be considered satan worshiping?

8th Century

Muslim armies invade and occupy most of Spain (At this time Jews made up about 8% of Spain's population). Under Christian rule, Jews had been subject to frequent and intense persecution, but this was alleviated under Muslim rule. Some mark this as the beginning of the Golden age of Jewish culture in Spain.

11th century
1095–1291
Christian Crusades begin, sparking warfare with Islam in Palestine. Crusaders temporarily capture Jerusalem in 1099. Tens of thousands of Jews are killed by European crusaders throughout Europe and in the Middle East.

At an old job, I worked in the produce department. A lady came in one day asking for pomegranates, but we didn't have any at the time. She said that the Bible said that people should eat a seed from a pomegranate every day for good health. Does it really say that? I did a search at Biblegateway.com and couldn't find one. I found a lot of verses that mentioned pomegranates, but none that specifically said to eat them for good health.

First off the bible or qu'ran (koran (sorry if either of those are spelled wrong)) doesn't count for this question, and neither does faith. I want non biased facts that Jesus performed even just one miracle. I have read that historians mention Jesus, so I believe he did exist, that's not what I am asking for. Is there one person who didn't contribute to the bible around that time that saw Jesus and can confirm that he was the Son of God. I mean they took a census, it seems weird no one thought to record this man who could bring people back to life.
