Isn't anyone who is pro-war and claims to be a true Christian simply wrong?

The "turn the other cheek" idea Jesus proposed even prohibits committing acts of violence in self defense or the defense of others. Maybe you think Jesus was insane to think that way. But if you don't agree with Jesus, you're not a true Christian. Sorry

Many Christians do not understand Jesus' teachings on Love, or the third stage of doing what Jesus did, living your life by Love. They seem to feel that when Jesus said "Love your neighbor as you love yourself", he only meant to people who live near you, not those 1/2 a world away. Furthermore, they rarely obey Jesus' teaching to not resist evil, but to reward those that persecute you. So they think that things or people that are evil in the world are to be resisted, violently.
Many humans have worked hard (for many years) to 'water down' the teachings of Jesus so that they are more 'do-able' by normal humans who don't want to be persecuted or martyred.

check out some historic previous. militia orders sprouted up in the course of the crusades. They existed to justify killing human beings to squaddies. If the warriors killed in the call of God and they were actually "battling clergymen" then they'd be pardoned. some well known militia orders were the Knights Templar or the Teutonic Knights. The church mandatory human beings to wrestle for his or her wars yet reliable Christians did not opt to kill everybody so that they had to justify it some how. Crusading became a way for someone to be forgiven of their sins. even with the very undeniable truth that maximum persons battling in wars do not imagine of it precisely this manner they'd justify that their moves are making the international a more desirable ideal position, therefor, they are doing Gods paintings.

It is a misunderstanding to say that Jesus was totaly against violence:
John 2:13-16
13 When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14 In the temple courts he found men selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. 15 So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple area, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. 16 To those who sold doves he said, "Get these out of here! How dare you turn my Father's house into a market!"
(from New International Version)
We are told to be at peace as much as we can:
Rom 12:17-18
Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
(from New International Version)
At the same time, we are told to be subject to the secular authorities because God has given them the sword to restrain evil doers. Christians are NOT to make war. But we are part of the government ("of the people)and so we are to defend our nation.
Rom 13:1-5
13:1 Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. 4 For he is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience.
(from New International Version)

Christians also have to obey the laws of the land. Sometimes those that make the laws also send soldiers to war. Not so much pro-war, but understand what it is to be a citizen of the US.
This is assuming you too are from the US.

Perhaps not a pro-war Christian, but not an anti-war Christian either. War was often used by God Himself to judge nations. I do not love war, however, I don't necessarily hate it either. God bless!
