Nope. You can't compare Jesus, the Creator of ALL, to a mythological god. Sorry.

It appears to be so. Dionysus' first miracle was to turn water into wine for a wedding (some stories say his own wedding... others say one of his own apostle's wedding)... he had 12 apostles... he walked on water... he was crucified (plenty of historical reference for this.... All one has to do is look up his name or Bacchus...) and he was resurrected and ascended into heaven.

Of course, the people who follow Jesus will deny this or at least, make it appear as if "Satan" is doing all of this. But, I'm sure if it were the other way around, people who follow Dionysus would call Jesus the Myth and point to the fact that there is not a single bit of writing from his Lifetime that would uphold any evidence someone would use in the Bible. Most people who follow the Bible, 100% literally, don't realize the New Test was written a few decades AFTER the event they wrote about. Using Church Fathers is like me using a school text book and saying the person who wrote the text book was an eyewitness of the events the book talks about. But, we both know, the writers of text books are not eyewitness' (Neither are the writers of the New Test). So that would leave the Church Fathers out. Unless, of course, all of these people are willing to take the writings of Pagans as Absolute Truth of what they wrote about as well??? But, I just don't see that one happening. lol

This is not intended to offend christians. But this is a good question which deserves to be answered. If you are a christian, please don't be afraid to learn about these things.

I would say yes, that the jesus story is a more recent version of dionysus. There are obvious similarities. Anyone who has studied mythology and ancient religions knows that most of the key aspects attributed to jesus were also found in other gods and messiah-types that preceded him. The jesus story is not at all unique.

Here are some of the more common attributes of these myths (and I know that Dionysus was believed to have some of these): son of a god, born of a virgin under a star and visited by kings, survived mass infanticide, miracle worker, healer of the sick, arose from dead, followers eat his flesh and drink his blood.

No, but I see where you are comng from. Reality is reality and is not subject to our intepretation, but that does not stop us, as humans, seeing a portion of reality down the ages and writing it down with how we see it and from a point of view. So, there is the myth and the reality together, there is Jesus as the reality, and there is also Jesus as the myth. He is the archetype, he is who he is, but many human's beliefs of him are little more than myths. A little bit of the artist is seen in all of his paintings, in the same way God has been seen from a human point of view for thousands of years, but when you meet the artist he may not be how you imagined him at all.

I don't know of any historical evidence that Dionysus actually exists. There is plenty for Jesus though. So, no it is not the same.

If you mean the story of the dying and resurrected God, yes.
Quite a bit of what became the NT has elements that can be traced back to other religious paths.

Paul/Saul was a roman, grew up roman. It is from Paul that Christianity came to being. It was Paul who took the Message of Jesus and "Amplified" it.

No! I know who Dionysus is; I feel that what you just 'asked' was an insult to many people including me.

I wouldn't be surprised if you suddenly claim to be a modern day version or reincarnation of Dionysius if ever it once existed. It is warped minds like yours that has led many astray. Of what business is some myth with the divinity and reality of the master, you best get yourself in check else you lose out in the big game of life. Oh, probably Dionysius has got some beach resort prepared for you in "dork" land...

yes, all so called gods, or offsprings of gods are all the same just with different names, they all come from the diseased minds of people who cannot think for themselves and follow a deranged lunatic like sheep.
