accepting supernatural religious dogma.

Is there anybody else who feels an absolute joy and sense wonder and fulfillment when learning about the true scientific reasons for the how the universe and everything that is in it came to be ?

Do you feel an immense sense of wonder and amazement when you contemplate the sky at night and marvel at all we have learnt about our orgins and existance and all that there is still to know ?

Finally do you think that this joy and wonder is far superior to simply accepting ancient dogmatic myths as a way of explaining the world around us >

So a few of you seem to answer questions here with, "open your heart and the proof will show itself" or some stuff like that. I have read about 40% of the bible now, I asked Jesus (outloud and everything) to forgive me for all of my sins past, present and future, and help me live my life in a way I could be happy with. I see Christians so happy in their faith, with their "life is great" attitudes and I wanted that to. i want to feel God's glory and all that, but no amount of believing, or praying has changed me or how I feel one bit. I think maybe it's because I'm doing it for selfish reasons.....or maybe it's because Christians are wrong. Thoughts?

not show compassion and mercy to Mary Magdalene? Never mind if he is just a prophet to you. Why not follow Him? Do Mohammed words carry more weight? To stone or not to stone sinners?

Why didnt they preach about the trinity? Is it because the church made it up under the influence of greek and roman methology? Why were the earliest Christians unitarian?

'Surely, they have disbelieved who say: "Allah is the Messiah ['Iesa (Jesus)], son of Maryam (Mary)." But the Messiah ['Iesa (Jesus)] said: "O Children of Israel! Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Verily, whosoever sets up partners in worship with Allah, then Allah has forbidden Paradise for him, and the Fire will be his abode. And for the Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoers) there are no helpers.' (Qur'an 5:72)

He wasn't at the palace because he had to be summoned. Any reference to where he was at the time? Did he have an alibi? I suspect the question is badly worded, but just in case.

Sometimes when I talk about God or think about him I get a feeling of pure joy rushing down the front of my chest down to my gut. I think He loves it when we talk about Him or think about Him. Perhaps he is just lonely and it makes Him feel good to know that we still Love Him.

So when Jesus was resurrected the first person he showed himself to was Mary Magdalene. Now if I died and was resurrected, I'd probably go to my girlfriend first. If I was single (like Jesus was) I'd probably go to my Mom or my buddies (disciples) first, or even the one who killed me.

So this line of thinking made me wonder if maybe Mary Magdalene was in fact Jesus ladyfriend. I mean it couldn't have been because he'd think she'd believe him over everyone else (cause she didn't) or that she would be the best messenger (though the message did spread far and wide) due to the fact that no one would probably believe a woman who dabbled in prostitution.

There is a Catholic station and when I flip the channels I see them, poor naive women, chanting over and over about "Blessed is the fruit of thy womb" and it makes me so sad, to see so many women robbed of their rational thought processes, dead looking eyes, like robots, chanting mindlessly over and over something so strange, what is this all about, why do they do it, why must it be done over and over and what is the purpose?

i think that although we have different people with different beliefs who celebrate different holidays that it is not really given recognition just as Christmas which is extremely publicized. i know that the majority do celebrate Christmas but i think as America representing different people of different beliefs that we should also give some sort of recognition, to not let it seem that just because you may celebrate this holiday or whatever, you are better. what do you think?
