If you're getting upset about the way people treat you here, why come?
I'm not a Christian, though I'm not an atheist either. I've received a death threat here. I've had people get angry. Truth is, it's not my buisness how someone else feels.
As far as "In God We Trust" on money, take a look at the dollar bill, on the reverse side, just below the pyramid. Look at the Latin words. "Novus Ordo Seclorum". That fairly denies the idea of a nation "under God". Translated, it means "New SECULAR Order". Other translations might include "New Deal", "New world order". However you look at it, we aren't compelled to believe anything.
I'm sorry for the attitudes around here. There is much intollerance. Too, there is an abundance of ignorance, with people tossing out slander and insults, without understanding the least bit of the philosophy of those the feel they are wisely putting in their places.
I have nothing against any religion or non-religion. I do have a problem with people claiming exclusivity to ultimate truth. I do have a problem with intolerance. Sometimes I get a bit of a broad brush out too. I'll admit that fault. Problem is that there are so few people who don't fit under some of those broad brushes that it makes the idea that they exist a bit hard to believe at times. The loud fanatics tend to drown out the less intolerant ones.
Anyway, peace and light,
--Dee

wahhhhhhhhhhhhh....... sniff... why does everybody pick on us? we're just trying to be left alone (while we are belittling everybody else).
C'mon. I come here to argue and fight and to have fun doing it. We're here to learn something. If not, why are YOU here? Would you even return if everyone around was just talking about how great it is that there are other people who don't believe in god?
I'm sorry, but I like the fact that there are religious ******* here. Give me the most bigoted, angry, redneck christian you can find- the kind that makes even the other Christians wonder "man- what the ***** is THAT Guy reading?" I want to answer his question. If we didn't have those people here (the opposition), this place would be no fun for us. For them, however it would be a field day. They could just sit around and talk about how great the lordy is and be content with that. They could be content with that (although the visitors would probably be among the more devoted to the faith).
Either have fun, or find another toy. Just ****** about the opposition like everyone else, and they will do the same. Its fun.

I'm an agnostic mind, and speaking from that mind i will say this-
This person argues with this person-That person argues with this other person, and so forth----open debate is healthy for the human mind-It's when open minded argument leeds to violence that's when it is alarming and idiotic-----it is healthy to listen to other peoples beliefs, not to dismiss them, but to listen and debate back and forth back and forth-------------------------as human beings have always done---------------lets realize something we are all born, live for a number of years, and than die!!!!!Noone, in my mind, will know were we go until than-if more people thought there wasn't heaven or hell(such as quoted by John Lennon) we would'nt be in as much as a mess as we are now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are not the enemy of christians and other theists. Our quarrel is with irrationality, wishful thinking, superstitions, intellectual dishonesty, and all other forms of thinking that keep mankind mired in darkness, ignorance and hate. Sometimes i do get depressed over our utter death and annihilation, but it just renews my zest to make the most of this life.

I'm with Darwin on that one. I'm not exactly "outraged" at people, but I do get ticked off. I try to be as polite as possible while still making my point, however.

Even when it's right in front of you you still don't get it do you..."one nation under God"..."in God we trust"...think there might be a theme here???
Just because you choose not to believe won't knock God off His throne.

I'm an Atheist. Don't make statements here. You'll only get reported and from my experience nobody changes their mind.

Here's a film that I like to use to help explain this. As you can see, Christians are clueless as to why we are upset with this country. They are completely oblivious to the fact that their religion oppresses us every single day.
