What do you think the word "love" means?? What does it mean to be in a loving relationship with someone?? What is the difference between the type of love that Jesus teaches us about, compared to the type of love that we see on television and in the movies??

Pls Help... confused

Anyone ever heard of this song? We used to sing it in chuch. If you know a website where I can find it I would appreciate it.

Refiner's fire, My heart's one desire
Is to be holy, set apart for you Lord,
I want to be holy.
Set apart for you my Master
Ready to do you're will, Oh Lord
Ready to do you're will.

I like it. It's beautiful. I don't remember the 1st verses of it. Thanks!

"I praise you because you remember me in everything and hold fast to the traditions, just as I handed them on to you. "

Look we are to hold onto the Traditions of the early church... Were could we find them? <----Yes, this is a question.

If youre politically correct or Muslim you will say the absurd "nothing".

Obviously it says something about Islam, if it did not, then you would see equal proportions of suicide bombers coming from other cultural or religious groupings.

In fact, you have to leave the present day and go back into history to find any other culture which was able to manufacture human suicide bots. WW2 Japan produced suicide bombers from a very young crop of kids who believed that the emperor was God.

Muslims have an interesting spin on it. Instead of embarassment over the type of religious brainwashing inherent in such a process, they try to spin it as "proof that Muslims have no fear of death".

The reality however is hideous beyond comprehension. We know for a fact, the only way to consistently produce suicide bombers as a force is to use the machinery of religious brainwashing. A religious doctrine that promises reward for murder of the enemy. A religion which creates "enemies" and hatred.

You have a long day at work and come home and snap at the kids or little kids picking on another, why does it help or feel good to hurt others? is this a substance of some kind? a life force that one can take from another?

If there is a God, I think that he is able to see the future. He'd be able to see my future. So no matter what I do, my future is set. You can't really change the future (because the future will happen no matter what).

I was invited by an acquaintance to this incredible beautiful church. When i first walked in there, it felt like I was suddenly whizzed to the 16th century. The women wore no make up,they had long dresses, wore their hair long. They also do not beleive in televisions. There is a verse in the Bible that says, "If your right eye offend thee, pluck it." So does that mean, they don't want to offend their right eye so they don't watch t.v.?

believing in one. we chose atheism over religion and a god because we wanted to. we feel it is correct so leave us alone about it. i for one have never felt the presense of a supernatural force nor needed one. and for you people who say its because i never looked, i have. i searched for years and never found any god. and while i do realise that not every catholic, jew, muslim, other, has dont this and i apprecieate that and thank you, it does happen alot expecially here in this forum. in the end i guess it all boils down to this. i respect your choice to believe so respect mine not to.

please note that i am not saying everybody who believes in god does this and again i do appreciate you for respecting our beliefs or disbeliefs (what ever you want to call it) and i thank you

First off, this isn't an anti-Believer or an anti-Atheist post, I'm seriously curious.

Why do you Believers believe in "The" book? It was made some 300 years AFTER Jesus Christ was dead. Back then, it was basically impossible to keep records for 300 years. "The" book has no evidence of anything (if it does, prove me wrong). Keep in mind, a quote isn't evidence.

Is it because you don't believe in a theory? Do you not believe in Doctors, either then? Doctors and Scientists both go to college. Doctors are just as smart as Scientists (persay, since they both go to college). Scientists made these theories on FACTS (fossils, patterns on the Earth etc.). The Bible was made on no facts. Think about it: a boat holding thousands of animal and enough supplies to keep them healthy until the flood went away? It's just a story to teach about morals. It's the same as Jeus and other Greek Gods. Why don't you believe in them, too?

Spirituallity, religion, faith, and cult. I hear these four words used interchangeably, and wonder how you all would define the four, and how they are different from the other three.
