Holy Warlrd,
I'm in the middle. I don't know what if anything is in control. I don't know if we are still in the "big bang".

The Universe is still expanding, if that is what you are asking. The BB usually just refers to the first moments of it starting.
We are under the control of the forces of nature...gravity, electromagnetism etc.

EDIT: Your remarks are fatuous, condescending and dismissive

I don't "believe in forces" There is scientific proof of the existence of gravity, electromagnetism, the 'strong' force and the 'weak' force. There is a well developed theory of how they work, and interact. These can be tested and predictions made based on our current understanding of these "forces" and the results of testing shows a high degree of accuracy.

Since you addressed your question to atheists, I am assuming you are not. If you don't want serious answers, then don't attempt to ask a serious question with your obvious limited knowledge of reality. The answer to things we don't yet understand is not "god did it".

Nothing but physical laws.

Yes there is still motion left over. The whole Universe is still expanding. How does that fit with the Bible?

... Evolution for me is "in control". I'm unsure about the Big Bang theory. I need to read more about it before declaring what I think on it.

the principles of physics, 100%.

All of reality, past present and future were determined in the moment of the inflationary era. So yes, you could say we are 'in' the big bang.

The universe continues to expand, yes, but it does not "control" anything.

We control as much as we can, the rest is up to chance.

edit -- an adult person should not *require* comforting. An adult faces life as it is and deals with it.

You are in control of your own existance. Take pride in yourself, stop being sheep and looking for someone or something to take care of and control you. Don't you think it is time you thought and acted for yourself?

the big bang is technically still happening as the planets continue to drift apart etc..evolution continues...

Nothing.

Why do you think there must certainly be something "in control"?

As for whether we are still "big banging", well, learn about black holes and there you will find your answer.

I think therefore I am. I don't need any gods or fairy tale stories to sooth me. I'm a survivor not a victim.
