holy books tell us to kill each other

Because my one source is better than your one source. My holy book is right and yours is wrong. If you aren't enjoying life the way I enjoy my life, it is because you are different, and different is bad.

Sound ridiculous? Not to religious fanatics who can be credited with causing most of the faith-based world conflicts. To them, it makes perfect sense.

That is why we can't all just get along...

You need to take this question over to the middle east.
Protestants and Catholics and Baptists and Methodists and Jehovah's Witnesses are not at war with each other. We do live in peace. It is Hamas and sunni and shiite and Joseph Kony in Africa and al quaida and the list is endless. Tell the muslims to quit fighting and the christians won't have to be over there as refrees.

Is there a new way?

religion is a farce, "holy" is how it is perceived. i have no religion and i live happily and i enjoy my life. try looking into yourself instead of what religions and "holy" books tell you what to think. religion is what is wrong with the world today.

Goods, stuff,

James 4:1 From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
James 4:2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
James 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
