So many people on here have asked for some proof of evolution. Since they seem to like ignoring the fossil record for one reason or another, let's go in a different direction - after all, there's a lot of evidence to work with!

A retrovirus is a sneaky kind of virus which infects it's host by inserting it's own DNA into the DNA of it's host. It just sticks itself in somewhere at random, and everytime that DNA strand is replicated inside the host, the virus gets copied as well - so the host is basically producing the virus that's making it sick. In addition, that virus, which is now part of the DNA, is passed on to any offspring the host may have.

DNA is really really long - and a retrovirus can stick itself in there anywhere at random. Therefore, you would expect people with the same infect ancestor to have the virus in the same place in their DNA chain, but people without common ancestors to have it in different places.

Have you ever wondered that? They tell you that you are going to hell, that you are living your life wrong, and yet, they swear? Why. Are you one of them? Thoughts. Opinions.

Apparently those are the figures, I was wondering if any of you could enlighten me on this, and I would like to know if anyone here believes that the world is this young. If you do then I hope that you realise that the evidence is substantially in favour of you being wrong.

In order to respond to this question, let me remind you that I am seeking the name ofa religion, not the answer to a mystery. Confabulating the truth will not help in any manner whatsoever AND NEITHER WILL DENIAL. I know any of you can answer any difficult questions with ease, so why not answer my question directly and with confidence. Remember, if someone is to ask, "What is the nature of the Universe," please do not respond with a vague answer such as ,"Depends on the Universe." I am asking you to be polite and I am nearly in tears thinking how rude you could be in response to my question, and as sa Christian scholar would say, you would be dealing with t he Devil. Please be polite and I will treat you with the upmost respect. Deviate from the question and I will respond with a sharp toungue. Thank you, and God bless you wherever you go.

Does anyone know the real reason wh it is that the Holy Bible continually refers to Jesus as "A carpenter"? Maybe it's a message from God???? Like perhaps his name???

Think of someone you know that is not religious: Are they ethical? If they accepted God into their life, would they SUDDENLY be more ethical? Some gangster rappers believe in God, yet they talk about killing and dealing drugs while some athiest do neither... What do you think?

Who here thinks that Darwins theory of evolution is wrong? And if you do think it is wrong, what proof do you have? And don't give me an answer based on religion... I want true facts as why you would think it's wrong...

I'm really confused now!! I was just told that the Bible allows for "some" evolution within species...wouldn't that allow for all evolution between species too?

For instance, one person said that it only takes two dogs (male and female) to produce all the dog types we have today...That means two greyhounds could eventually produce a little silly, white, dirty-mouthed, yappy, foofy dog...Is this correct?

It just seems that this reasoning would then allow for more than just intraspecies evolution. How can there be some sort of evolution without allowing for all types of evolution? Seriously, I'm trying to understand, but I don't feel I'm getting it...

I'm a Baptist and I mentioned to a friend this morning in church that I was going to give Bikram Yoga a try to help my bad lower back. He got all defensive and told me Yoga was Satanic and that doing anything with Yoga was being disobedient to God. He said all the poses were tied to Hinduism and other pagan rituals were used during the sessions. I just want to get the benefit of stretching in the heat, I'm not out to become a devil worshiper! I reminded him that nearly every holiday that our church endorses has some pagan elements but that didn't stop anybody from doing them. He also practices Martial Arts, which if I'm correct, is tied to Buddhism. It seems to be that this is another example of people cherry picking what's right or wrong based on what they've been told...not what's really important to God. Am I wrong for getting ticked off at the accusation? Or is this Yoga thing really going to make me a heretic?

In times when man's fate was in the hands of mother nature, religion was used to explain the unexplainable. To give reason and motive to things man could not understand or deal with, and to endear certain qualities of man and shape the way we should live.

Now, in a world where our fates are typically in our own hands, why do these same values enforced by -most- religions lead to conflicts and detrimental behaviour? Why has religion simply become a status symbol of a superficial nature rather than a system of core, fundamental beliefs?

Acts 17 27-28
27 that they should seek God, in hope that they might feel after him and find him. Yet he is not far from each one of us.

28 for "In Him we live and move and have our being", as even some of your poets have said,' For we are indeed his offspring,'

Lets priase our Lord and savior today and seek his face
May God Bless you all

Worldwide Islamic conflicts: Chechnya, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Somolia, Sudan and Dafur genocide, Chad, Phillipines, Indonesia, Lebanon, Palastine, Iraq, Algeria, Southern India, Kashmir, etc..

Can I get someone to clear up any misconceptions people have the of reality of Islam....you know..."reality", as in "those fricking things that really happen as opposed to what lying or naive apologists claim should happen".

I would really like it if I could get some teenager or other weak ignorant little person, who loves to offer opinions based on no knowledge and a naive simplistic saturday morning cartoon cliche worldview, to apologize for Islam and all the Islamic war everywhere in the world.

Myself, I dont see how a religion created by a warlord could produce such violence and intolerance, but because of my inability to cope with reality, I would prefer to call fellow countrymen and realists "haters" and adopt the apologists view hook line and sinker.
