In times when man's fate was in the hands of mother nature, religion was used to explain the unexplainable. To give reason and motive to things man could not understand or deal with, and to endear certain qualities of man and shape the way we should live.

Now, in a world where our fates are typically in our own hands, why do these same values enforced by -most- religions lead to conflicts and detrimental behaviour? Why has religion simply become a status symbol of a superficial nature rather than a system of core, fundamental beliefs?

Christianity is the religion of comfort, has been ever since the Fab Twelve got their hands on it.

'Early' religions can be seen as the first sciences, attempts to understand the world and control it.

As society has drawn away from the living God, it has become valueless to those who take fate into their own hands.

They only try to forget that they will die.
