Why? Is it that hard to believe? Or do you think is it just unreasonable to live up to those standards in todays world? Let me know.

Hypocritical christians isn't the only reason I became an athiest. To me, God seems like a fairytale that parents tell their children to comfort them when they have a nightmare. God is just an idea made up to bring people comfort. People need God to feet that they are important in some way. They need God so that they feel like there life actually has meaning to it, because a life without meaning isn't really worth living. When you think about it, compared to the size of the whole universe, human existence doesn't really matter. With how big the universe is, it doesn't matter if humans existed or not, it wouldn't make a difference. It doesn't matter how important a person is on the Earth that we live on. So, somebody came up with the idea of God to trick themselves into thinking that there life really does have meaning, even though the existence of the whole human race is pointless. God is just a lie designed to give humans a false sense of comfort.

Their contempt, hatred, perceived superiority, arrogance and derision for anyone's opinion other than than own had me thinking they were proselytizing and trying to further their cause of 'anti-religion'. Was I mistaken?

Do they really understand what 'love' or 'brotherhood' means?

I'm wondering if maybe you were taught not to believe or maybe something bad has happened to you and you're angry with God. If that's the case you should really try to not be so stubborn and get into God's word and you'll find the truth but you have to be willing.

I've read conflicting claims on this subject, and I'd like to hear what some Christians here think. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

Not saying that i dont believe in jesus and/or God, but with the all knowing ablilities and not to mention his close ties to those of the fishing communities, why is it that no one ever thought to ask where the edge of the world dropped off as was common belief at the time. Such an important question of everything that people knew, wondered and questioned about at the time was never addressed in scriptures and held true for over a millenium after him. If jesus was here in our presence today, two thousand years later, someone should ask "Why did Jesus never address what is out there beyond what we can see" is there life on other planets? I know its a totally different type of question but they parrallel each other as compared to what was known then and what is known now. Not to mention the meaning of life being "If we were made by God, why?" or why are we here. These questions have been pondered since the beginning of religion hence their "beliefs" so why isnt this in the bible

Atheists think it is their mission to force the planet to conform to their image of 'rationality'? Interesting new religious crusade, I must say. Yes, atheism is a religion.

Express yourself, I want to know how people feel when they know they are committing sins. I mean logical sins like “thou shall not steal”, “thou shall not committee adultery” and so forth. Never mind what religion you are, moral sins that are being broken like lying and cheating and eating to many cheeseburgers or drinking from the milk carton with your mouth! ;)

In the last couple years, I've had many experiences that would lead me to believe that I've been under spiritual attack. I've prayed through the Blood of Jesus to rebuke any forms of witchcraft and even return it to whoever is responsible. The most difficult thing is not being able to identify the culprit or culprits.
