if this is true, if we are to take the athiestic route, and state that since we may or may not have souls, this makes the abortion argument a little harder to discuss. now we have two definitions of what it is to be alive, 1. it has a heart beat, 2. it has the ability to acomplish tasts.

if we are to go with 1, a child developes a heart very early within its growing phases so it would be considered killing a child if we abortad it even in some of the earliest stages.

if we are to go with 2, its ability to function and to do stuff on its own, what bar do we raise this to, can a child who does not spell right, be aborted, how about one that does not do complex math, worse yet, anyone who believes in these "silly ideas" of a christian God?

I take these as opportunities to gauge where I stand with my tolerance, patience and respect. If I still feel bad when I receive those, then I know I still have more inner work to do. That is the blessing itself. Do you do the same too? This is what it means to practice tolerance, love, peace and nonjudgments which are common principles underlying most religions.

..choose a time when global communication had not evolved to "show himself" to the world, well I say world, I mean a small town in the middle east..

My thinking is this...

Given that it is a sin to worship any other, not worship, etc, would it not have made more sense to "reveal himself" to us when the Global Media could communicate to 90% of the globe that his "word" was the gospel - this could have been recorded/reported and saved for all future generations of doubters?

I am not trying to be derogatory or offensive in any way, I just don’t agree a lot of times when I hear theist’s say that they are making rational or logical arguments. I am not saying that their "arguments” are not valid, but that they seem to be based on faith. Also, do you thing that the majical or superstitious beliefs of other religions are logical and rational? I am only trying to understand our differences. I apologize for my lack of diplomatic eloquince. Please do not get offended.

I'm not a church-goer, but I do love the feeling I get listening to Christmas music, you know, church songs - not frosty the snowman, performed by a top quality choir.

Are there any churches in San Francisco that have high performance choir's that are doing Christmas hymns this month?

I'm a white guy, if that matters, but I don't care what color the congregation is if they don't care what color I am.

Have mankind lost all morals? Why doesn't anyone follow God's Law? Are people just plain ignorant of the laws and think they're more powerful than their creators?
