Because we're human, just like you. (and your question generalizes....)

First of all, not all of them exhibit intolerance towards other faiths. But about those who do, they have a different understanding of these words. Christians often say that God loves all human beings, but only if they believe in Jesus and that he atoned for the sins they can be forgiven what horrible sinners they are since birth. When Muslims speak about "brotherhood" they mostly mean a brotherhood among Muslims.

Christians never exhibit intolerance. Its only a fact that they want to share the 'good news' that salvation is free and the way to God is through Jesus and not through a laborious process of penance and karma. Sharing info in itself talks of love and brotherhood. Perhaps you need to know what love and brotherhood is.

Why do you group everyone together in those religions as exhibiting intolerance? I am a Christian and I am tired of people grouping every hateful evil person who claims to be a Christian in with us and I'm sure the Muslims feel the same way too. I love you brother, but that was a lame question.

I have always believed that Islam is the most progressive faith when it comes to "tolerance towards others". I think that the way you interpret the concept of love and brotherhood in the Muslims community is seriously problematic. My conscience won’t allow me to disregard or reject someone who feels differently than I do. These generalisation don’t seem to mesh well with the themes that rise off the page every time I pick up the Qur'an.

Was it not the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) who taught us (the Muslims) that is it our duty to correct injustices of the world?

That we are all brothers and sisters of humanity?

Does the Quran not say that we are to be kind to animals, as they have their own modes of prayer and praise, and Allah knows well all that they do? A hadith quotes Muhammad (pbuh) as saying, "A good deed done to an animal is as meritorious as a good deed done to a human being, while an act of cruelty to an animal is as bad as an act of cruelty to a human being."

Hope this enlightens your perception towards our Muslims brothers and sisters in general.

It is only some people of faith who are intolerant and it is true of any religion because it is more about human nature than religion. What I want to know is why more ministers don't reprimand their parishioners for their intolerance of other religions and cultures. Most of the people doing it do not realize how much damage they do and believe that they are righteous in their hatred. What a shame. I'm praying for world peace though.

Firstly, when they talk of love and brotherhood, it is only for others Christians and other Muslims. I doubt if it is for everyone.
Both Christians and Muslims are just as intolerant as each other. However Muslims are prepared to kill other non-Muslims. Such is their hatred. Whereas Christians, although just as intolerant, are more civilised and sophisticated about it. They will simply convert other non-Christians by poisoning their mind against their religion.

They are both as hell bent on wiping everything that is not christian or Muslim.

True Muslims and Christians are not intolerant towards others. You and others let a few from one group damage your opinion of the entire group and there's a problem in that too.

You are generalizing. Some Muslims and Christians are tolerant of others' faith. (and love each other)

The ones who don't probably don't really understand what love or brotherhood is.
