Since life is all we have, all we know about, and is so short, then we can say that there is nothing more precious to us. If life is the most precious thing, then abortion should be illegal. Right?
If we go beyond the biological taxonomy of "life" and say that the human embryo or growth is not life or life worth protecting, arent we now making something like a religious pronouncement?
Science says its human life. Thats not a judgement, its a biological fact. Anyone who says "its not a life" is simply ignorant of science. Its not for debate. More intelligent proponents of abortion dont deny this scienetific fact, they merely try to draw an arbitrary line at where human life can be protected.
The moment we distinguish one clump of human cells (me or you) from another smaller clump (embryo) is the moment we make a religious declaration. We declare one clump "human" and another "inhuman" or "viable" and "deadmeat". Sounds like religion to me.
