If your atheist, you almost certainly have more appreciation for human life, because you essentially recognize nothing else to be greater.

Im Agnostic and see it the same. Human life is so precious...I now see it...its all we have!

I wish human life never had to conflict with a womans ability to control every part of their body all the time. I really do. However, because human life is so precious, I just cant see why we arbitraliy chose to one spot along the human growth continum to be so magical and spirtual. Pro-choicers are like religious wackos to me.

I dont see why a fetus has less significance as a human. In fact, any attempt to give a larger human more significance, as a matter of law, just seems like religious babble to me.

"Ahh, a human fetus aint special enough yet". That so, ok, tell me what religious ritual must we perform to make it special or viable?

This isn't up for deabte, this is FACT. So why would God wait thousands of years before sending his only son to Earth to create Christianity? If it is the "one true religion", then what about all of those people that came before the time of Christ? Are they just SOL for living at a time when Christianity didn't exist?
I'm asking because I am sick and tired of people saying "the only way to get heaven is to accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior". So, about all of these MILLIONS of humans that came before Jesus, they just end up in pergatory forever? Seems kind of ridiculous to me!

few weeks ago i found 250 bucks on the office floor, and though i struggled with it, i gave it to my manager whom in turn passed it to the secretary for anyone to claim. till now, no one has made a claim and i've not heard of it, have i done the right thing? i mean, should i have kept it with myself and see if anyone made a claim? everyone'll probably forget the money and she'll use it eventually. what have i done wrong???

But for Islam, could Jihad exist? Who doesnt get that? Lets see if I can better explain. There are many species violence.There is violence done because of: desperation, racism, religious fervor, socio-pathic indifference, etc. Jihad is one species of violence. Unless your a pagan who believes in a violence God that always keeps violence within certain levels, irrespective of where it comes from, then you must recognize that violence is not a certainty.

For example, take Bin Laden, without Islam, would he ever have done any violence? Apprantely, Bin Laden gave serious thought to becoming a farmer, and at one point, swore off Jihad totally. Bin Laden was not one for education, like the majority of his culture, but he didnt appear to be a violent man otherwise, and expressed deep foundness for farming. But for Islam, would he be what he is? Would such an ignorant man feel such self righteous hatred, without Islam?

My university edifies a confederate general and has a statue dedicated to him? Is this right or wrong? It has been shown that most if not all of our past heroes, including the founding fathers, Caesar, Napoleon, etc. were all racists, sexists, and pedophiles, yet they are all whitewashed and edified in mainstream history. I must have nightmares about dying every night. I wonder how it's going to happen, what it's going to feel like, how much it's going to hurt, whether I'm going to drown or choke on something or something even worse than that, and most of all whether my life means anything at all.

I just can't believe in god. It's just too much bullshit to be true. I wonder if reincarnation is true. If it's not I mean, really, our lives don't mean anything. Not a goddamn thing. Not even someone like Gandhi or Stephen Colbert's life would mean anything. Because death is really all there is if you look at it, life is just this little dot on a huge canvas.

Mortality sucks.
