Is it a Catholic thing, or is it another group that practices the casting out of demons? Any additional info would be appreciated. Please, no opinions on the good or bad of exorcisms, just facts on what is practiced.

Most major religions practice exorcism, though not usually every day. Since we see Jesus performing it in the Bible, any faith based on his teachings which cannot do likewise is obviously based on lies.

Yeah, there are some ministries that do that...I'm pretty sure they're some type of Christian. They believe any little bad thing is life is the influence of a demon and they regularly cast them out...I saw a TV special about people with those beliefs once....

Oh yeah. Every few months you'll see a story in the news about some disabled kid in a poor neighborhood dying from an exorcism preformed instead of trying to get the kid some help.
