The question is utterly hypothetical, since there is no demonstrable evidence of the existence of either god or devil. Hence, no meaningful answer exists.

Yes that is kind of what happens when you recieve Christ. You are a willing consenting participant in your "possession"...only he doesn't come in and take over your mouth or body or actions. He will not take control...you have to give it over to Him. Which isn't always easy because sometimes it is uncertain what He would have you do. But it is a similar type of thing. You can see the difference when you observe a demon possessed person and a born again christian. I know I know, many will say christians froth at the mouth and try to destroy themselves, ya ya ya. Unbelievers sometimes say unkind things. But if you have ever met a person in your life that professed christianity and was kind and loving and made you feel wonderful being around....that is how God is supposed to be in a christians life...."endwelling" them. Contrast that with historical accounts of demon possession. Well there have been so many movies made about it. Notice the difference. God endwelling a person SHOULD make them loving and patient and kind and forgiving and merciful....demon possession is vile and vulgar and self destructive and overpowering.

We have a God-given free will. There is, of course, a fine line between that and predestination, but I do not claim to know it. Regardless, God will respect that free will and will not "possess" us as Satan would. God very well can direct the hearts of kings, and can influence people in any way He wishes. I do not know where free will stops and predestination begins. This answer may very well apply to only one side of the thing, if even that. However, as far as free will goes, no. God will not enter the body of a person without their consent. That is why salvation is a choice. One must choose to be saved, and choose to allow God to begin to shine through them. I do pray that my actions, responses, thoughts, ways, ect., would be controlled by the Holy Spirit, because I know that God's Way is best, and His Will is perfect. However, as one answerer noted, Jesus Christ stands at the door and knocks. The verse does not read, "Behold, I stand at the door and kick it off its hinges". Hope that this helps, God bless!

Hypothetically No , the assumed nature of god rejects this notion. Because God unlike the devil Grants us free will and is supposedly always there to begin with provided god was not rejected through the afore mentioned free will . It is just so much simpler from the atheistic view to deal with the here and now aside from conjectures of the untestable realm of the super-natural . I lean toward naturalism as in the viewpoint
where the supernatural can't be tested in the nature realm as then it would no longer be supernatural any longer .

Since man is claimed to be God's creation, therefore man is his possession. God is imprinted in all his works like painters name in his canvas. Possession by the devil therefore is an encroachment on God's property. Without God in you, you are just a creature, existing but not living.

Truly yes. When i was in a prayer bond because i was invited i never believe in GOd or His spirit and existense. I was there observing and looking at them of what they're doing.I was even smiling and thingking that what i am doing here, seems like it is rediculous. When the time came that the host say let us pray for ourselves or the people around us and locate yourself a place where you should pray, im just continue smiling. And i found out myself just standing facing the wall. When i look back to everybody they are all busy praying, as i can see some people even crying so i feel different and thought that looks like they are real, maybe im not worthy to be here.
So what i do is I challenge God in that very moment. I close my eyes and said okay i will pray to you God. If you are really true because i have doubt your existense proved it to me right now. My eyes is close when suddenly His name "JESUS CHRIST" appear in my front. I feel very cold i hear my heart click and suddenly i stop breathing, i cry and said " I love you Jesus".That moment my jaw lock and i cannot control it , my tongue is spinning and spinning, later i have known it is a gift of tongue. That night i pray for the first time, i was shocked about the experience. After that experience i have seen a lot of working of the spirit in my life. Truly if you challenge Him you wont win.

Interesting question.
I think if a person is predisposed to accept goodness, they can be possessed of the Holy Spirit.
However, I also think that most or all possessions "by the Devil" are in reality mental illness, and treatable by modern psychiatry.
The question then arises, how would we treat possessions by "the Holy Spirit." My response, for now, is that if one is truly possessed by the Holy Spirit, one's behaviour will prove to be constructive, or tending towards the beautiful and the good.

I saw five small demons flying around my brothers bed.when I awoke to a greenish light in the room.when I was four. I woke up terrified.trembling with fear.? one of them looked at me and a screamed but no sound came out.I will never forget those evil eyes.My brother told me once that he was afraid he was going to hell when he died.he turned out bad.
I have been protected by the Spirit of God all my life and have witnessed a number of mighty fine miracles. Gods spirit is definitely with a person who loves God.I know this as well as I do anything.I know the Spirit of God. I ask of it and it answers me.with a very quiet voice within me. and I then try to do Gods will, I could write a book on the ways of the Spirit. how it has saved me.how it saved my mothers life, and my fathers life.I have heard the voice of God within me. many times.
I had a wreck, when I was 16 years old. flipped the car down a hill many times into a lake.I got knocked out.I woke up standing up??wet.we were triple dateing.they said I went under the water and brought out two girls from the car..and gave them mouth to mouth resusitation.I do not remember doing it.You tell me who did, I dont know.
I was praying for my father.who was in a coma.from a stroke. he had phnumonia. and erratic eeg and had to have a machine breath for him. doctor told mother there was no hope. I prayed over and over God your going to heal my Dad,I heard a voice in my head, go rub his feet. I got up. it had been five hours on the floor??didnt seem like two maybe three minutes, I went to the hospital & rubbed his feet he opend his eyes.and out of the hospital in three days and lived well for 11 more years, he had a little memory lose and talked more then usual.
God & his spirit is alive and well in those who beleive in him. and except the Spirit of God into there lifes.I have total faith in God.

In Christianity, this is best known in the phenomenon of Pentecost - Acts 2. It is known as glossalalia or speaking in tongues. God "takes over" is harsh - elevates/ exstacizes one where you do not know what you are saying - it is just praise or prophecy. I found pretty much the same phenomenon in healing or the so-called "dead in the Spirit" experiences. In the OT this is usually found in the prophets. Jeremiah and Elijah in particular.
This is not altogether surprizing when you consider how people can get caught up in music/art/a love/ even work to the point of losing their personal identity.

No. It would rob you of your free will.
People who believe they have been possessed by God are mad.
That is how madness became connected with holiness in some cultures and gave rise to prophets like Saint John the Divine who was totally crackers, giddy bonkers, a loony.
