Is there any education system in the world that teaches the role the Catholic Church played in our history???? The ignorance shown by the lack of answers to your question is deplorable!
I suspect that more Muslims know the answer than Christians!

If you are alluding to his role in the Crusades, then he is "credited" with being the one who launched the first Crusade to liberate the holy land from the Muslim invaders who took it 400 years earlier.
