Why do you Catholics call priests/popes "father" when the Bible clearly says "call no man father" (Mt 23:9)?

It means, We do not call another father in reference to a spiritual or Church Leaders.

We will do everything the Lord has said; we will obey.” (Ex. 24:7)

If God gave you the power to think and reason, why do you blindly follow the teachings of the bible, and refuse to consider other possibilities (note: I realize not all Christians are like this, if your not you can just ignore this question).

All of these were found in ancient Egyptian temples.

1. "The best and shortest road towards knowledge of truth [is] Nature."

2. "The kingdom of heaven is within you; and whosoever shall know himself shall find it."

3. "Man, know thyself ... and thou shalt know the gods."

Do you agree or disagree with these and why?

God or the Devil?

Do you think that if there is a real God, that he hates almost all religions of the world, except Buddhism and atheism, for painting a false picture of him either through the Bible or Quran. Why are people so absolute in saying that the Bible or Quran is true? Did you actually see God inspire people to write it? You don't realize how much power you give to religious leaders by believing them. They are the holders of knowlege, not you. So instead by following the Bible or the Quran, you are following man, not God. Jesus even says to judge things by their fruits. The Bible and the Quran doesn't seem to have very good fruits.

Have you ever debated a Christian or Muslim into a corner and destroyed their faith in God? Is this even possible? How did you manage it? I have pretty much given up because all the theists I try to explain it to stop listening as soon as you disprove their idea of God and just start throwing Bible/Quran quotes about how you will go to hell.

Is belief necessary for existence?? Just because the individual does or doesn't believe in something, does that mean the something does or doesn't exist??

An extreme example for illustration purposes would be if I said I 'don't believe in' electricity, yet despite my disbelief we know that electricity exists. Perhaps this could be applied to other things too? If you don't believe in a particular religious God, does that mean that he doesn't exist? Maybe the Christians and Muslims are BOTH 'right'???

Why can't Muslims just stop the killing and bombing? Why don't the Arab Women stand up and tell their husbands, brothers and fathers that you will NOT TURN MY CHILDREN INTO A SUICIDE BOMBER! I just do not see ANYONE (ISLAMIC) wanting peace and harmony.

What, about 99.99% of the people who claims its false or "just a theory" havent studied evolution...fair? I was one of those people, although I did try to keep my mouth shut, because its always been a pet peeve of mine to make claims or offer conclusive opinions about something not studied.

Ok, so your one of these people...Im not beating you up...but i would like you to think about why you have offered so many opinions about something you havent studied? Maybe theres a deeper fear here...possible? I think it was so for me anyway.

I know I know...YOU REALLY HAVE STUDIED IT...i know (sigh)....sure, weve all seen a program about it, or may recall a low rent junior high science teacher talk about it, but Im here to tell you, it isnt easy to grasp...it has many levels.

Once reason people dont get it right away is the difficulty in conceptualizing the time elapse over billions of years. Also, many people dont get that adaptation is not a conscious thing, wilful movement.

How about instead of "not a question or answer", or "chatting and personal communication" we just let them say crossed my theolgy? Wouldn't that save so much time and aggravation? Then they could honestly say I am reporting this because what you said does not fit into the world view of my doctrine, and therefore, I will report it because it offends me.
