Since you have your mind already set, let me ask you this then:
What in heaven's name do you need other people's opinion for anyway??
Peace be with you.

I'm agnostic. I beleive there is a GOD/higher power but I definatly do not believe that a single guy is the son of GOD. To me we are all GOD's children, not jesus'. Where do I think I'm going to go when I die? To a place that I think suits my personality and good being. Same with you. I don't believe that there is a set place for all good/bad people to congugate*. So don't think that heaven and hell are the only places to go. There are other places to go in which you can make up as you die. Because in the end, you will either be cremated, or buried and then most likely reicarnated.

What will happen to you when you die is up to God. It doesn't say in the New Testament that unbelievers go hell, it says that those who are unjust, not kind to their neighbour and not forgiving will go to the "outer darkness".
It says that many people who called "Lord, Lord" to Jesus but ignored the poor will not be acknowledged as his friends, but those who were merciful will be with him. Your ability to belive in the dogma is almost a side issue.
So the question is not "what do you believe", but "how did you live?"

even Satan believes in Jesus as the way the truth and the life and has accepted him as such, but he's not going to heaven. The bible is exceedingly unclear on this matter. Specific when it comes to how the Jews destroyed entire races of people, but vague when it comes to how to get to heaven. i believe that when you die you do just that. die. no magic, no soul escaping to the sky, nothing. just a quitting of the physical functions. just like when you turn your car off the "energy" that sustained it does not escape and float about until you're ready to reinvigorate it. It's not as romantic as the idea of floating up to heaven and sitting on a cloud or whatever, but to me it's the truth.

Anything you and I and everyone else thinks, believes, surmises, speculates, etc. is all bull -- we humans adopt belief and thought systems like we're putting on clothes. And then we live our lives with the 'virtual reality' of meaning that these thought and belief systems provide. The only way to know anything about this is to have a direct experience -- train the mind to go beyond all the concepts, beliefs, suppositions, concepts, perceptions, thoughts, logic, etc, and get it to a direct realization.

If you believe that you have a future in anything other than lawn fertilizer, then it matters less whether you believe in God and more the type of life that you live.

LDS believe - If you never accept the gospel but are a good person (and receive the gospel after you die):
Terrestrial Kingdom
71 And again, we saw the terrestrial world, and behold and lo, these are they who are of the terrestrial, whose glory differs from that of the church of the Firstborn who have received the fulness of the Father, even as that of the moon differs from the sun in the firmament.
72 Behold, these are they who died awithout law;
73 And also they who are the spirits of men kept in prison, whom the Son visited, and preached the gospel unto them, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh;
74 Who received not the testimony of Jesus in the flesh, but afterwards received it.
75 These are they who are honorable men of the earth, who were blinded by the craftiness of men.
76 These are they who receive of his glory, but not of his fulness.
77 These are they who receive of the presence of the Son, but not of the fulness of the Father.
78 Wherefore, they are bodies terrestrial, and not bodies celestial, and differ in glory as the moon differs from the sun.
79 These are they who are not avaliant in the testimony of Jesus; wherefore, they obtain not the crown over the kingdom of our God.
And if you never really lead any sort of "righteous life" and never
accept the gospel in this life or after:
Telestial Kingdom
And again, we saw the glory of the telestial, which glory is that of the lesser, even as the glory of the stars differs from that of the glory of the moon in the firmament.
82 These are they who received not the gospel of Christ, neither the testimony of Jesus.
83 These are they who deny not the Holy Spirit.
84 These are they who are thrust down to hell.
85 These are they who shall not be redeemed from the devil until the last resurrection, until the Lord, even Christ the Lamb, shall have finished his work.

knowing is a question of faith and revelation. many parts of the bible and the people within it have been proven by both science and history. as regards to what will happen to you, as a believer i can not say as judgement is not for me but for the lord himself, anyone who tells you where you are going simply does not have that knowledge or authority. you will be judged just like everyone else.
