It was God's plan for the members of the family to be associated in work and study, in worship and recreation, the father as priest of his household, and both father and mother as teachers and companions of their children. But the results of sin, having changed the conditions of life, to a great degree prevent this association. Often the father hardly sees the faces of his children throughout the week. He is almost wholly deprived of opportunity for companionship or instruction. But God's love has set a limit to the demands of toil. Over the Sabbath He places His merciful hand. In His own day He preserves for the family opportunity for communion with Him, with nature, and with one another.
"Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation;" Leviticus 23:3
Look at the fourth commandment, a part of it is for us to work and the other part is for us keep the seventh day holy - Saturday.

Are you talking about man only or man & women, If a man is disable then the wife has to work, & visa verser, Turn to 1st. Timothy 5:8 But if any provide not for his own, & specially for those of his own house, He hath Denied the faith & is worse than an infidel, But if that man is total disable, then this falls on the woman if she is not disable, Because marriage is for better or for worse, In sickness & in Health.

John 6:27 Do not work for food that spoils but for food that endures to eternal life which the Son of Man will give you.
Matthew 6:19 Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where theives do not break in and steal.
Luke 12:33 Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys.

Philippians 2:12 So then, my beloved, even as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, WORK OUT YOUR OWN SALVATION WITH FEAR AND TREMBLING!!!!!
James 2:24 You see then that by works, a man is justified, and not only by faith.

Proverbs 6:10,11
10 A little sleep, a little slumber,
a little folding of the hands to rest-
11 and poverty will come on you like a bandit
and scarcity like an armed man.
