If you listened, watched or read them properly you would notice THEY tell lots of Lies about everything not just Islam. They aren't always lies though more misinterpretation or misunderstandings!
The local papers are pretty boring in most places. Birth, Death, Marriage Announcements or things like Which Lady won the top prize at the local Fete's Flower Competition! the rest is Advertising.
Not worth reading!
Local news items on TV never seem to get the facts 100% right any more than National news does!
I personally dont believe anything just because someone says its true.

I do not believe newspapers or T.V. whether it is local or national.Several years ago a relative was involved in an incident with some pop stars, I was there ans saw what happened. The next day when I saw the newspaper headlines, I was stunned, the story they printed was so far removed from what actually did happen, that had I not seen it all with my own eyes,I would not have recognised it as being the same incident. It was a 75% fabrication !! This was not a serious matter, so everyone concerned thought it was hilarious, the pop stars told us that it happens all the time with them. If newspapers are so proficient in telling `little lies` then they don`t care about telling the `big` lies either, as long as they sell newspapers. This was the last time I bought a newspaper.

No. They're biased to one point of view, usually showing muslims to be terrorists and make it seem as if no one ever does anything wrong but the muslims. Why is it if a muslim does something wrong (not necessarily a terrorist act), than when he is described they always mention his religion? But if the guy is christian, for example, they only mention race.

If you watch tv in the UK and read newspapers here, and then watch a non English and non American news channel, then you can clearly see that the UK and Americans are biased and make people believe that everything that goes wrong in the world is the muslim's fault. Obvoiusly people like you and me are smarter than that, others are not so smart. It's easier for them to believe what they hear in the news than to actually think about it.

I always like a second source. The thing is I've gone and read some of the sites that are for an Arabic audience and they scare the hell out of me a lot more than the stuff I read in the western press. Even the English version of Al Jazzera is pretty bad and it is watered down by their own admission.

I personally think that because we try to be fair, they are actually being easy on Islam.

I believe some things sure. There will be some lies about Islam and some truths. I'm Atheist and not very concerned about Islam anyway. You should hear the lies they tell about us Atheist. They say it isn't true and just tell all manner of lies against us. Of course we know our belief is the only true belief so we pay it no mind. Kisses Betty

Oh boy Stone! You are in cloud cuckoo land!
Our local media wouldn't know the truth if it hit them head on. They can't even get road names right.

OP, sorry you think islam is misrepresented, but believe me, it's not alone. The only way to get a fair and just representation is to own the paper!

I beleive that everything on the news should be taken with a large pinch of salt.

The trick is not to rely on a single source of information and to make reference to a few sources. This then means that you can form your own opinion on matters.

My local news has nothing about Islam in its all about sheep who have fallen down wells or how Mrs Robinson at number 22 had an affair with the butcher.

i'm greatly surprised Avery is asserting something. i think of the final time he even gave an interview in this subject rely merely before this modification into 2009. He blames "loose exchange" for ruining his profession, claiming human beings won't evaluate his new initiatives because of the fact of LC's concern rely. he's a million/2 impressive - loose exchange ruined his hazard at a profitable movie profession, yet it particularly is because of the fact it particularly is a shoddy piece of movie-making. ****EDIT*** confident, it exchange into dreadful. Horribly researched and badly (and intentionally misleadingly) edited - there's a reason its preliminary launch exchange into on Youtube and that they save having to launch new variations to splendid all of their maximum catastrophic ****-ups. staring at loose exchange is like being Bukake'd with stupid for an hour and twenty-5 minutes. Please remember LC began as an attempt to make a fictional comedy. It purely morphed right into a psuedo-authentic documentary whilst they found out they lacked the skills to make a fictional comedy. by the years Avery has run warm and chilly on the content cloth of his dreadful little pupil movie. He has as an occasion expressed that he did no longer desire the cloth concerning the BBC and worldwide commerce 7 in there yet exchange into over-ridden by his 2 batsh!t loopy co-creators. then you definitely see him on say nationwide Geographic's "9/11, technological information and Conspiracy" right this moment brushing off something that would challenge the conclusions he reached in LC with no theory. There are very few things I take from any source without a healthy dose of skepticism at the very least. Always cross-check statements before calling them fact.
