All of these were found in ancient Egyptian temples.

1. "The best and shortest road towards knowledge of truth [is] Nature."

2. "The kingdom of heaven is within you; and whosoever shall know himself shall find it."

3. "Man, know thyself ... and thou shalt know the gods."

Do you agree or disagree with these and why?

For the guy who seems to think this is a homework assignment - it's not. I'm just asking what others think of these proverbs. Wow - you really made an assumption.

Scroll to the bottom. There are many there. A lot of food for thought.

1. I think this is mostly true because you have to understand the way things are before discovering her things will be. And I also believe that the universe is governed according to natural law. But I also think that man exalts himself from the animals by his ability to act against his nature, to trust his intellect instead of his base desires and use foresight to predict the future. Without this ability, we could never create laws and governments which are the key to modern civilization.

2. I've read that Buddhists believe that nirvana, their concept closest to heaven, is an internal state of extreme peace, not a place that we go after we die. If you believe that, then this should be true to you. While I declare no faith, I do believe that the first key to happiness is understanding your own desires.

3. With the infinite multiplicity of religious and spiritual beliefs, both culturally and individually, I can only conclude that God(s) are the product of imagination. Many believe, however fallaciously, in a personal God, so I guess the responsibility for determining what is spiritually real lies within the man.

Interesting proverbs. Great food for thought.

I think the answers you got for this question did a pretty good job of summing it up, but that proverb reminded me of a similar message in the book of Amos about 'cause and effect' and events happening for a reason and a purpose : (Amos 3:3-6)  "Will two walk together unless they have met by appointment? Will a lion roar in the forest when it has no prey? Will a young maned lion give forth its voice from its hiding place if it has caught nothing at all? Will a bird fall into a trap on the earth when there is no snare for it? Does a trap go up from the ground when it has absolutely caught nothing? If a horn is blown in a city, do not also the people themselves tremble?..."

I agree. Man's Divine wisdom is ancient. Modern life gets in the way of people seeing that these days.

The first one I agree with whole heartedly...

The second one is synonymous with my Buddhist teachings, so yes...

The third one may be true, it sounds like a Hindu principal that I have been ruminating over...

It sounds like you didn't read the book or simply partied vs. settled down to do your homework or write your essay paper.

Now I have a question for you: Why should we help you beyond the fact that you simply asked. 2 points awarde isn't enough and doesn't count.
