..... can you define "belief" for me please?? And are you sure that what you think is "belief" really is "belief"?? And how do you know this..? And are you sure that your right..?? What if your wrong? lets say that you really are right about the whole "God" & Jesus thing..but what if you werent right about the whole "belief" thing & you were wrong..??? Do you still get to go to "heaven"? Or do you go to "hell" or what?? = Z Im just curious about this...= S

When you believe something, you believe it. Kinda like believing that the sky looks blue, or that grass is mostly green or that it's hot in the summer. You believe it because it's true. Yeah, I'm positive my definition of belief is correct. I know God is true and so I believe He is true. If you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, then you are saved. Belief in your heart just means, it has to be more than words, it means God knows whether your belief is true or it's something you pretend to in front of others.

belief is the same as faith

I know that the way to heaven is through faith in Jesus because the Word of God, the bible says so. I know that the bible is true for many reasons, the main one being prophecy. All of the prophecy in the bible that has been fulfilled so far, has been 100% true.

It is not a matter of me or any one else being right about this teaching. It is the fact that God said it.

Acts 19:32 "believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved"

The point of that is that God, who created the heavens and the earth, requires a payment for sin. Jesus when He died on the cross payed that payment. He rose again three days later. What we are being saved from is eternal separation from God for eternity.

This is all in the bible. If you are interested in this, read and study the bible, ask questions check answers against what it says.

If I were having this conversation with you face to face, I would give you a bible (if you wanted one) and ask you to read the book of John in the New Testament. Don't be alarmed if you don't believe or even if you have no idea what belief is or if what people call "belief" is real.

After Christ died, was resurrected, and ascended into heaven, the Holy Spirit came to earth to fulfill an important function. God, through the Holy Spirit, will give you personal evidence that Jesus Christ is your saviour. You are really asking some good questions. Belief is as elusive as the wind and none of us can grasp it through human strength. It is not visible to the eye, nor is it easily explained. God alone can give you reason to believe.

How could you have been wrong if there if there is a heaven/hell to go to?
Assuming that you believe the authenticity of the Bible, you must believe that Jesus is the Son of God, was born into a carnal body, and died on the cross to pardon our sins.
If you doubt the authenticity of the Bible, pray with a sincere heart that God will show you, and He will. If you're looking for tangible proof, study some of the archeology digs and things that they have uncovered which proves many Bible facts.

The belief that's refered to in the bible is actually better translated "faith", which may be defined as living in a way that is dictated by your belief. Christ taught that you should value love and love others, and that love is self-sacrifice for the need of others.

God cannot be mocked - people will get what they deserve, according to what they knew was the right thing to do and what they did.

"Belief" refers to a part of a wider spiritual or moral foundation which is Faith.
Why would anyone believe they are wrong? That is not comprehensible.
When we pass away we must stand before God and be judged on our lives.
If we believed then the judgement would be straightforward.
If you did not, there would be a lot of excuses flying.
To believe in a principle takes moral character regardless of what it is.
The belief" thing" just falls into place with accepting Jesus.
