It's been my experience that christians are some of the least accepting people on earth. Are they just afraid we will make them stop believing in god, or take away their churches? what are they worried about?

From about 5 yrs, it was late at night and i was talking to a friend on the phone when i notice a light flashing so quickly infront of my room. So, i think it was the electricity. I turn off the main switch and i come back to my room. The flashing light passes again! i saw it for about 4 times flashing and passing infront of my door room. Frankly, I was in panic and started crying. Anyone has any idea about what this might be?

I feel like I'm allowing Discrimination to happen if I do anything to stop it, I'm promoting what God deems as wrong.

I know as an atheist I struggled with it on and off for a while. It was mainly the feeling that I was somehow letting God down by not believing in it like it was a test that I failed or something

I know it was just left over damage from the brainwashing but did you have a similar thing that you had to deal with. The final puppet-string that you had to clip?

Just finished reading "The Perfection of Wisdom". These are my thoughts on how to apply Buddhism in my life as a Pagan. Buddhism teaches that attachment to the material world keeps us in a state of unhappiness and suffering, so detachment from that world is greatly to be desired. This has benefits even for those of us who see the material world as divine. It is easy for most people to recognize that who they are, the self, is separate from what they possess – car or home, clothes or jewelry, etc. But FAR less easy to understand that our sensations, our thoughts, judgements, ideas and evaluations are also things we have, not who we are. Acknowledgement of this separation frees us to abandon evaluations, thoughts, judgments, etc. that do not serve us at the moment that their usefulness ceases, because we know they are merely possessions, not the self. This frees us to see correct action in every moment.

I mean no disrespect, but I was wondering if all arabs/muslims agree with the arabs in the israeli-arab conflict? Or is it accepted and somewhat common for arabs/muslims to agree with israel?

I ask because a coworker, myself, and a muslim coworker were talking, and we raised the idea that "land-for-peace never works". The muslim coworker was rather offended (we didn't say it in an antagonizing manner either). I was a little surprised, since I really felt that my coworker who raised the idea really explained his point very clearly and convincingly. anyways, that got me wondering...

thanks for your help in advance

I've traveled throught the U.S., Canada and Western Europe, and while it exists in other countries to a small, insignificant degree, the only place where Evengelical Christianity truly flourishes is in the United States. Your thoughts as to why this is?

I'm just wondering that, I have no clue if it would be better or worse, I mean people look to religion for help and guidance, but at the same time religion causes wars and senseless killing, so what do you think?
