if the answer is Yes, then why did Allah decide to allow you to be born on earth ?

no we didn't exist. Allah breathes from his spirit into the baby while in it's mother's womb.
but Allah knows in advance how we are going to live our lives.

I would not say that we were a spirit per se. But more of a thought that was already with allah not yet brought into existance. But was already with HIM. This is the existance of a muslim. They originated from a thought that was originally with allah. Then he brings us forth from semen out of a mother's womb(stages are described in the quran). Before we exit our parents womb, allah sends an angel. To watch over us and record our good and bad deeds. But it states there are 2. One for bad deeds and one for good deeds. It is written that a person will do nothing but good till he or she is is written as a good person with allah. And hence goes the same thing for a bad person. A person will do bad deeds and keep on doing bad deeds till they are written as being evil with allah. Or untill allah wills something else. Meaning that one can do good all of his or her life and what allah wills can come to pass and that person can be revered as being evil in the pages of allah. But still allah is the all mercifull and I know not.
Now to answer why did HE allow us to be born on earth? It is just life. Why did HE allow you to have 5 fingers including your thumb? Why do you need air to breathe and water to drink? Why is the sky blue and not purple? We are promised to inherit earth, paradise, and much more that was never imagined by a human being. How can you inherit a place you know nothing about(earth, yourself)? How can one appreciate a cleansed house if they never knew a rotten one? How can one know what is pleasure without pain? We are here on earth for the same reason you are. It was just meant to be. I came from the earth and to the earth I shall return. PEACE!
