Hey. I need a bit of advice from fellow followers of the Old Ways. I just can't decide on who my matron goddess should be. I'm stuck between the egyptian Bast, goddess of freedom and independence, and Isis, goddess of magick and fertility. I feel a strong pull towards them both. How did some of you guys finally decide on which deity was right for you? Any feedback welcome.

From a religious standpoint. Why did GOD create us?

The way I see it, if there is a GOD, he created a planet full of people for the sole purpose of worshipping him. If we don't, he kills us by fire, flood, famine, plague, you name it. I see GOD as a spoiled brat, a kid with an antfarm.

Also, if he is omnipotent, then what is the point in life anyway? He already knows whats going to happen, so why does he let life go on with so much suffering and misery. He knows who he is going to call to heavan, it is already all layed out if he is truly all-knowing. Kinda seems pointless, huh?

I am a Christian. In the Bible it speaks of on the 5th day God made all different forms of animals before man. According to the Buddhist teachings, did Prince Siddhartha ever speak of the begining of man on earth, because in the Buddhist religion (I could be wrong about this) doesn't Buddhist believe that if you live a whole life of sin you will Reincarnate as an animal in the next life? So what came first in the beginning of time according to the studies of Budda, man, or animal? If animal came first on earth, then what man sinned to become those animals, and how could a man sin to become those animals in the beginning of time, if man didn't exist yet?

Science, generally speaking, denies the existence of God or a supernatural being. On this, we got used to seeing questions about God's existence. But, what I see, science sometimes entangles itself in it's own web. I was reading the timeline of world history on Encarta Encyclopedia, it says Big Bang occurred about 13.7 billion years ago. As I proceeded, suddenly it says, "Prokaryotes, one-celled organisms and the ancestors of all life-forms, appear in 3.8 to 2.5 billion years ago." "Dinosaurs appeared 230 million years ago."

It's like everything appear from nothing. Appear dramatically. lol! Science teaches us each and every event is an effect of a cause.
But fails to address what caused those to appear. It also says it doesn't make sense to think about what was before Big Bang. And its makes sense that life origins appeared from nothing!

First, I must tell you a little story.

Recently some of those nuisance "church people" came to my door. I had told them several times before that I wasn't interested; my exact words were "No thanks, I'm a secular type of person." Anyway, they told me that's okay, they "accept sinners too." What the f*ck?!? I've already made it clear the last time they visited that I loathe religion! So now they come back, implying that I'm a horrible sinner and can be "washed from sin." Pfft.

Now, this is where homosexuality comes in. The purpose of visiting me, "the big bad atheist," was to change me. To violate my beliefs and tell me to worship their God. If gays are, in their oh-so humble opinion, sinners, then the only purpose of inviting them to church is to change them. They basically wish to brainwash homosexuals and tear apart what could potentially be a loving relationship.

So I ask you, is this right? Are they carrying out God's will or being homewrecking bastards?

If the flood did not cover the whole earth like the Bible said, then why is there remains of marine life on top of every mountain that has been explored? Do marine animals fall up when they die?

Suffice it to say that this is a generalization;Nevertheless, how many of you can deny that you have played bait and switch with people-baiting them with the notion of genuine friendship
and concern for their problems when deep down inside you hate
everything they do and then, when something goes wrong and they are feeling vulnerable, you tell them what kind of dirty sinners they are and switch from friendship to jesus?

If that example isn't good enough, how about xtian rock? I've only known two kinds of xtian rockers-one's who were more rocker than xtian or (even worse) more xtian than rocker. In the latter case, isn't it fair to say that a person who uses the sounds and symbolism of something they don't really believe in is guilty of being deceitful?

Doubtless, you will qoute Paul's infamous qoute "To the jew I am a jew, to the barbarian, I am a barbarian(Ad infiniteum)I am all things to all men that they may know jesus."But isn't your own apostle guilty of wearing a false face?
